  5. Guys the way I worked it out was convert the times into seconds then divide by 60 to get the time in minutes (as fractions of minutes). Then add all these together. Convert all the distances into yards and then divide by 60 to get distance in 60ths. then to get an average of all races divide time by distance and should come out as 1405.81 john
  6. Great Flying Vic Hope the chequer hen can record a velocity like that next season John
  7. I dont think this programme was intended for fanciers though Sean, being in the research field it has been an intriging phenomenom for many years. from the fanciers point of view the money could be better spent elsewhere but on a scientific view it has baffled scientists for years and they all want to be the first to crack it. Personally thought the programme was very good despite its downfalls. What I thought fascinating was the fact that the pigeons wanted to land on the other side of the river although they could not actually see the loft. john

  13. Hi I was fortunate to be given a copy of this book and must say it is an excellent read. If you enjoy a good book I suggest you get hold of a copy of this and read it. the story has everything and is about pigeons to boot. The Scottish contingent will enjoy this as it is set in Fife. The thing that most impressed me is the way Graham has set the book out to explain the pigeon racing set up to the non fancier, I truly believe any non fancier that reads this will definately be intrigued and maybe want to start up. Well done Graham excellent book. Anyone else read it John

  18. John there are two ways you can do a crop flush dry or wet. Some people use a flexible tube about 7" long attached to a syringe and insert it down the canal (the one behind the tongue) and slowly draw the syringe back slightly and then put on slide. Or some put some saline water into the crop by same method and draw some of the fluid back and examine John
  19. Tammy They do the same job but the quality is far superior as you can adjust the light accordingly to get a clearer picture John
