  1. Morning :-) All safe and sound there? How are the birds settling in?
  2. Well done for protecting this bird. Hopefully, the number Rose has provided will find the owner and it'll get sorted. Thanks for your efforts, Chas47 :-)
  3. Cool. Enjoy :-)
  4. Excellent spirit. Well done, and don't let the cheats and thieves deprive you of your pleasure :-) Best of luck, and don't forget to electrocute the perimeter fence :-) :-)
  5. Very nice, Tomo. They look full of life :-)
  6. Welcome, Zakaria! How long have you been racing pigeons?
  7. Wishing you both every happiness :-)
  8. He obviously likes you Martin, despite the cats ;-) For this sort of pic, maybe better to web host. I use photobucket. If you don't have it, pm me and I can do it for you.
  9. Thanks Susan. I had her from Merlin. She's not flown far before, but I let him know straight away. She'd have to get back to Ireland to get home :-( To put it mildly, I'm gutted!
  10. Poor Colleen :-( Blue Boy's hen decided to do a runner nearly 48 hours ago. I went into the shed with all my cleaning stuff. Turned around to shut the door, and she was over my head and out in the air. She's never attempted to bolt before, and hasn't been out since I had her :-( Hoped she'd come back within an hour or so, but now 2 days later I don't think she will. Bluey and the babe keep looking around for her - and so do I. If anyone happens to see her in or around the Bristol area (she has a yellow IHU ring), please let me know. I'd do anything to get her back. After all the positive ones, this is a sad chapter :-(
  11. I'm loving this thread. It's like being in a home for the bewildered ;-) LOL
  12. Can it get any better? Lovely looking birds, Susan. Excellent :-)
  13. Many thanks, Lee.
  14. Best of luck getting them back, Bandit.
  15. Absolutely shocking. Beggers belief :-( I've contacted the BBC to ask why a story about racing pigeons is accompanied by a pic of a wood pigeon. It's like having an article about a golden retriever accompanied by a picture of a poodle!!
  16. Hi Lee. My only regret is not feeling confident to let the birds all out for a proper fly through fear of them not coming back. I'd love to have the experience of seeing them all out and back in again. Other than that, I don't regret anything, and love having my pigeons. Will just have to see how it develops :-)
  17. Good grief! Amazing result. Well done, Susan :-) :-)
  18. Tariq, very well done on your first race(s). Most excellent. Keep it up :-)
  19. Blue Boy (pigeon in the kitchen) preening his first yb:
  20. Does the YB look ok to you Vic?
  21. Many thanks for that. Can't believe he/she is 4 weeks - how they grow! I plan to have more :-)
  22. Welcome to Pigeonbasics, Zeeshan. You've certainly found the best place to be. An enormous amount of experience here. What's not known about pigeons here isn't worth knowing :-)
  23. Sorry, but had to put a pic of the young one in the Sputnik today. Am going to try to adapt pjc's fly out to fit properly to give more space, but want to let them all have proper flying experience if I can work out how to do it. A lovely afternoon here in the south-west. Hope conditions were favourable for everyone.
  24. Gerry, I can't tell you how much I appreciate you registering and posting here. I've been blown away by all of the help, advice and kindness I've been shown by the folk here, and you posting here has put the icing on the cake. Thank you!! I had a great chat with your dad on the phone a few months ago. He's a real gentleman, and I enjoyed talking with him. Please would you pass on my best wishes? Merlin (Dominic) sent me a lovely hen for 'Blue Boy', and as you've probably seen here, they have a lovely little one who's now 4 weeks old, and is flying around the shed like a pro. He's got a small patch of white on his head and is very strong. My first ever hatching, so you can imagine how that feels. I feel so privileged that the pigeon found his way to me, and all the things that have happened. I reported the bird as soon as I could get a look at his ring number, but I know it was never passed on to your dad. I feel very lucky that I'm able to keep him with your blessing. Sorry to have rambled on, but I'm really grateful that you've managed to get on here, and helped to close another chapter for me. Best wishes. David
  25. :-) :-) :-) :-)
