suppose the ink on the wing will weigh less than the ring on the leg

depends on union rules but im sure it's says for R.P.R.A that all birds presented for racing should be wing stamped , so even if have phone rings on they don't comply with there rules , most outdated , i could be wrong but thats how i see it

3 x 10 mile 3 x 20 mile 3 x 30 miles thats all my old birds get if they get the weather , i train from good liberation sites more important the area you let them up to me , the birds will choose the line of flight

was talking to an ex minner at the weekend , he said the reason thatcher was closing the mines down werent because of cheaper coal abroad , it was to get rid of the biggest threat in this country to the goverment and that was to disband the biggest Union , i do believe were going to be in for a rough ride , but i can't see either cleggy or Cameron getting another term in office , just goes to show Labour were doing well , but yes they could of been doing a whole lot better and doing radical change rather than fudging along with what the tories left them and continuing with bogus expenses claims and second homes when young familys struggle to get the one house

some valid points there Roland , we bailed out the banks with tax payers money they continue to give themselves massive bonuses , it was hinted at giving the banks a commeral tax , there reply was if was too high they'd leave the country !!! this goverment can't do the maths although i do believe the infrastructure needs a shake up and most of these quangos need binning as most do same job as many of others , i do belive were heading for the biggest down turn and as you say the poor will suffer the most the middle class will feel like working class again and the rich will be happy with there cash off shore evading british tax , perhaps if they closed these loop holes in these so called tax havens this country would be in a better shape

OLDYELLOW replied to jackied's topic in Introductions & Member Messages
you could simoplfy your feeding buy buying a pre mixed corn , and parent birds dont school there ybs but bringing them out of loft or allowing into a trap such as a sputnik so they can see out is a good thing as they get used to there enviroment -

well if there out most of the time not much need to seperate them as will have ample space to stay apart as wont be inside much , although the cock will bully the ybs until they mature just create perches so they can claim apart of loft as there home -

when the ybs are feathered under there wing then they should be feeding on there own that be a good time to seperate them from there parents , to stop them breeding buy some plastic eggs to swap with the real ones or you'l be over run in no time -

I'll certainly answer , i only treat my birds when instructed to do so by a vet , i dont see any reason to treat unless a bird or birds are ailing , i believe birds have a great constitution and there first line of defense is there natural immune system and been strong and robust enough to fight infection via there immune system , medications should only be used when ailments are found , the greatest thing about vets they'll test to see which treatment has the best response to fight the ailments , treating blind can only do more damage and in some cases give the infection bacteria or parrasite a more favorable enviroment to take further hold of , also we must think over use of any medication can result in much stronger strains that are harder to erradicate . On that note i test my birds regulary with my vet and up to now never had Paratyphus , the only ailment i get is around may time which is canker in ybs this has been the case for the last two years and been tested and treated for by the vet , i feel that this is down to my management of my ybs and my management will differ slightly to compensate . I find my yearings and 2 years upwards hardly ever ail due to my managemnt and i don't treat on a 3 week cycle , i use more a prevenative measures than treatments hope this helps Mark
