As you say Vallance the only way to get change is to be involved, go to region and have your say /vote! Timbarra, complete waste of time dealing with the RPRA direct as they can only make changes via regions and council. Maybe if you have strong feelings and positive ideas then you should become your clubs region delegate and put your ideas through the appropriate channels!
  2. What are the SHU doing in response to this?

With so many people constantly knocking the regions and Unions, put your hands up those who hold any office, go to region meetings or sit on council!

Joe, the TAX effected so few people that there was nothing for them to push for! The RPRA are again trying to get pigeon racing recognised as a sport which will have its own benefits. Phil
  5. That is a poss Kev, but chubs has said they are yearling, are they latebreds or early bred? If they are latebreds they may just not have matured enough yet and will pair when ready if they are a pair! Phil
  6. If you put them into a new shed they will still be teritorial, the problem is only being one other bird in the section he is going to pick on that. If there were more then he would have less chance to be dominant and wouldn't keep picking on the same one! Phil

No you didn't gangster, sorry! Just pointing out that show racers arn't a different breed and are only racers that have had there constitution and type improved through breeding. No different to improving out and out racers by selective breeding. Phil

There is actualy no such breed as a show racer. They are racing pigeons that have been bred to improve type and feather quality! Phil
  12. I do actualy wonder if he becomes 100% fit if he'll return home to Ireland, don't be suprised David if he does! Pigeons never fail to amaze, we have had birds return after 2 and 3 yrs away! Phil

Whats wrong with using good show racers? There constitution has been improved over the years for showing purposes but they are still racers! I was approached a couple of years ago by a very well known continental flter for 12 pairs of show racers suposidly to use as feeders! If they are used to improve the racers quality but they still perform then whats the problem with that? If you look at the Olympiad birds do you realy think they are not crosses of some sort, just look at the type etc but they have still reached the required race standard. Phil
  14. keep up the good work David! Phil
  15. if you've seen the size of the hutch Sue it will need to be a rather big run!
  16. next time you get a nice sunny day put him in the run and put a bath of water in there for him, i'm sure he will enjoy it if he's feeling better and a good bath is a sign of contentment.
  17. well done Rose, why is it always the same people spoiling it for others?

I agree with Rose, best birds in the loft have all been gifted to me over the years. True Friends will always breed you birds from there best, birds that would not normally be for sale. Birds I have spent a lot money on have never matched the others. But you do need to be lucky enough to have good friends!
  24. looks great, I would be careful with the size of wire you use on your flights, it looks quit large which could be prone to cats grabbing birds through the wire and even hawks! Also mice etc can get in to loft through it. Phil
  25. somebody else had same prob a couple of days ago. If you shut her in the box with a fresh clean bowl and some nest material she should be fine. Phil
