I think that newsagents are having problems with distribution. I have mine posted and its here first thing Thurs morning, my partner collects his from the newsagents, last week they didn't get it until tuesday! The newsagents never have it before friday. I would sugest you order it to be delivered by post. Phil
  3. Sportka, be patient!!
  4. Sapper, i understand all unions have been supplied samples of life rings with built in chips. It will make life easier but will the cost then be reduced? If we are paying 26p approx per union ring and £1.10 per ETS ring a combined ring should cost arround 75p due to increased production of chips should reduce costs! Who wants to bet the cost won't come down? Phil
  5. David, if yu get box perches then fit them as tight to the roof as you can. If you get a small drinker http://www.rvwoodcraft.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=33_68_76&products_id=181 this will stop the water being fouled and if you build a shelf about a foot from the ground it will stop the drinker getting feathers in it during the moult. Similar with feeders a small hopper is ideal so you can control the feed and it can't be fouled. A stand with a feeder built in is another option http://www.rvwoodcraft.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=33_35&products_id=331 At the moment i wouldn't worry about nest boxes especialy as you don't intend to breed. If you get a hen she will be happy to nest in a cardboard box on the floor in thre corner. Phil
  6. The WHPU have lifted the restriction on ring purchases and we can buy direct from manufacturers of approved systems. Phil
  7. Only 1800's, just hope Roger fly's his kite on tuesday!
  8. i'm looking forward to the invention of cheap, light weight tracking devices to see where the poxy birds do end up! Now that would be interesting! Phil
  9. But ETS has been advetised for years without approval so that doesn't mean they are! I think they are a great improvement as long as they can not fall off! Looking forward to Tuesday, at least the weather looks good. Phil
  10. if its implanted it would be difficult to reuse on another bird if required! Phil
  11. You are welcome to some, the stock are on there last round of eggs now but I would need you to send rings as I've used all mine. Phil
  12. not had a pm David
  13. on the floor ply is the best covering and easy to clean and you won't need heating. If you are able to put ina power supply for lighting its useful for the winter months to feed and water the birds when you get home from work. Phil
  14. All sensible questions David. The web link I sent with lofts on, RVwoodcraft, you'll find sputniks on there. I would put twinwall perspex in the other windows. You would be advised to put air vents low down inthe front to give you a good air flow. You can either use v perches inside of which I have some spares you are welcome to or box perches. I wouldn't worry to much about nest boxes at this moment. You will also need a feeder, drinker and some grit pots. Phil
  15. there is clearly a lot going on behind the sceen and i'm sure that even when the result is published it won't be the last we here of it! I hope all goes better this week! Phil

  20. you don't need to justify yourself Jimmy! Phil
  21. Well said, its up to you how much you sell your birds for and who you offer them to! I think some are just jealous of the quality you have posted in your pics! Phil
  22. why are you selling Andrew?
  23. what i meant Rose is i thought that if a member clocked on the first day and wanted to use the clock for day 2/3 he would have to have his clock opened on day 1 and could then have it reset for any more birds. Ifa member hasn't clocked he wouldn't need a reset. Phil
  24. It won't be close with the guy who is disqualified, it will prob be close with the rest of the members birds as it was a sprint race that would be expected!
  25. when I joined my local club here they had a 10 bird rule. You could send as many as you liked but could only nominate 10 for club race and the rest were trainers but did count for the fed. What happened is members just sent 10 birds as there was no point in sending a bigger team! We got the rule changed and the birdage went up with better competition, needless to say the previous sec threw his toy and left as he didn't agree with us not having a birdage limit! Phil
