  1. Les, if everybody wrote to the unions they would still take no action and there reply would be you need to go through your club then region then council! If the union put out a questionare in the papers for all members to complete and return, there is so much apethy that only about 10% would be returned! I seem to remember a questionaire was sent to regions a few years ago but nothing changed. Phil
  2. good luck with them, but make sure they have had enough training and if they are not ready then leave them at home, don't throw them away for the sake of sending to your first race! Patience is the name of the game. Phil
  3. just what you need to keep your little fella company David!
  4. I reckon they were all rolling! fantastic, pure whites in a snow storm!
  5. Paulo, I agree, some just chase averages at all cost hence the reason they breed so many. Young bird season for me is all about education for the rest of there racing career! Phil
  6. Spot on Shadow, just look at how the atmospheric preasure has changed in the last couple of days! Keep em at home! Phil
  7. now Rose, that brings back some memory's, Dr Andersons, fantastic pigeons, wish I had some now! Phil
  8. is 9miles the furthest you've sent them? Have they had enough training? Phil
  9. Well done Mick! But live to a hundred, how would we cope with that! Phil
  10. Easy solution wings, have leagues withing large clubs giving everybody a chance. I can see long term, there being no clubs and just nationals etc with large marking stations, and no longer messing around with small clubs! Phil
  11. would be much more economical to go together on 1 transporter, saveing fuel, wages etc etc and as the birds are coming to the same area.
  12. How many times have you heard of clubs merging in harmony to form 1 decent club or feds getting together to fill transporters? It just doesn't happen. An example, we fly in a fed in South Wales, there is another boardering fed north of us, if the birds were liberated together returns and clashing would be reduced. Everybody agrees this at the meetings but when it comes to racing all changes, if there is south in the wind the southern members don't want to liberate togeter and if there north in the wind the northern fed don't wat to go up together! Harmony! Phil
  13. well done getting 3 from 4! Many birds missing this weeked. Phil
  14. there are to many against change that want, and are happy to race in there club of 5 members being afraid of competition!
  15. Spin Cycle, just putting my point, there would be many like you that have a distance to travel to there clubs but areas would need to be set to suit as many as possible. We show as well as race, the club we show with mainly is 2 1/2hrs drive for me, if you want to compete then you will go where you need to go! Phil
  16. because there are to many dinosaurs at region and council who block change. If any forward thinking propositions are put forward then some on region etc throw there toys out of the pram and threaten to stand down, like sheep the others follow and the propositions get voted out! It won't change until its to late or the RPRA is run in a different way!

    Wanted Rabbit Hutch & Run

easy to build your own. Phil
  18. Agree Oldyellow, but another thing to add is the number of clubs should be reduced, 1 club in 1 area with no member refused membership forceing people to work together, making for bigger clubs and reducing the overheads! Phil
  19. looks like a young bird and should settle to its new loft ok. Good luck. Phil
  20. If they are youngbirds there eyes may not have changed colour yet. The eyes will be very dark and start to change after a few weeks. Phil
  21. how old are they Ionela?
  22. main revenue comes from membership subscriptions, but if you don't pay those you are then a defaulter and will get suspended! They have got people over a barrell! If nobody donated birds to the charity sale or visited Blackpool 1 year that would hit them harder than anything! Phil
  23. Prob is without 09 rings etc there will be no yb racing! The RPRA prob make very little from ring sales but it would hurt the sport more than it would the RPRA as members would have still paid there union fees! I do agree something needs to be done but should be done via presure from club, feds, and regions towards the RPRA. Phil
  24. The sions had terrific eyes and i'm sure the blood runs through many of the modern day distance family's. Phil
