  8. A very good friend of mine started back up in pigeons 2 yrs ago after having severe health problems. A few weeks ago he was rushed into hospital after a heart attack and they have now found he has cancer. He has built a team of bird up from the best he could obtain but as his wife is having to do all the work needs to reduce numbers. amongst them are Eagleson bushaerts, Camiel Cardons, Roosens etc. There are at least a dozen youngbirds and a couple of pairs of Stock. The youngbirds have been trained to 20m but would break if required. Please P.M if interested. The birds will be with me in South Wales from Wednesday. Phil

  17. most families of birds have there differences, if you keep your youngbirds together some cocks will start to show far before others and its no different for latebreds. Personally I wouldn't even bother thinking of pairing them in January, breed from your old birds and leave them until the spring and the weather warms up, but watch the birds as they will tell you when they are ready.
  18. only in name, its very closly related to poultry desease.

  20. pearse, the original hen got out and hasn't been seen since. Bluey has a new hen ready for the spring and a new addition to the family. Davids up to 4 now and will soon be looking for a bigger loft or garden! Phil
  21. The data protection act prevents details being readily available without individualys permission. The ways its been set up allows sellers to post as much information as they want, also i'm sure not all sellers would want crank calls and scammers using there details. Phil
  22. it all depends on what room you have. Best way is to start with a small loft with 2 sections and some youngbirds. This will give you a start and you will be able to learn about your birds, feeding, flying, careing for etc. Then when you have learned the basics you can start to train your birds etc stepping up to breeding and racing. Good luck Phil
  23. You can fly from hutches, if suitably set up but I feel a loft is far more benficial.
  24. Whoever they do decide to use they will want to drive the price down to a minimum. Any courier qouting for there business should not allow themselves to be beaten down as I beleive Amtrak were. Louella need a courier more than a courier needs Louella! Phil
  25. if you visit www.rpra.org.uk they will be able to tell you who your local club secs are. Phil
