  1. asha, who is slagging anybody off?
  2. I agree Chris, one product/chemical i can recall a few years back was publicised as being banned for use in racing pigeons was within weeks being openly advertised in the BHW!
  3. Jimmy, your pair will produce yellow cocks as long as the cock carries yellow but they will only throw a very small percentage of yellow cocks amongst the other colours they will breed.
  4. Didn't know you'd got rid of yours Ben!
  5. Chris, there is no show standard for show racers to conform to!
  6. give them extended lighting and if you want to a little heat.

    Old Comrades info

Copy of letter for info:- The Racing Pigeon Old Comrades Show Doncaster Race Course 6 & 7 December 2008 The Old Comrades Show is returning to Doncaster Race Course and it’s original date and will incorporate the BSRF Classic Show. This is an advanced notification and full details of classes will be advised in due course. The Racing Pigeon will print entry forms and rules. It is intended that the Star and Garter classes will form the Classic Show and the other classes will be available to all competitors. Scottish East is due to provided the Classic Show judges and these will be unable to Show in those classes. However under the change of RPRA rules they will be allowed to show in the other classes. The same restriction will be placed on people asked to judge the other classes. Whilst some people will argue that the rules allow judges to enter any class, due to the requirement to insure there is no inadvertent conferring, the above rules will be adopted for the Show. The current indication is that there will be eight Open and eight BSRF classes for Show Racers and six classes for flown birds. It is requested that if any body has or knows the whereabouts of the Show Trophies would they please contact the Racing Pigeon or Show Secretary.

    Blackpool

there will be no shortage of birds there! Some may offer discounts on sunday to get rid of birds they don't want to take home but there stand space will have still cost the same and will have to be paid for so unlikely they will be selling birds any cheaper. Phil
  11. I find ivemec easier and less trouble, i found it was a real pain to get it to disolve!
  12. A well ventilated loft thats not overcrowded will not get repiritory problems!
  13. once air is out put him in a dark box for 24hrs, then this will give both the syringe hole and ruptured sack chance to heel so that he doesn't draw more air in when you go near him!
  14. sorry asha, thats what i meant which is why you can't tell what a white will throw! And again will only throw dilute if carrying the gene! Phil
  15. Asha, I brought birds from Ken Kippax's clearance sale but they never done anything for me but birds I had from Bob McDonald flew there socks off! The McDonald birds were obtained direct back in '87 but the birds i've seen for sale at Blackpool etc since havn't been a patch on the originals that encouraged me to buy from there! What have you got there? Phil
  16. Rooster, that sound to strong! An inche to 2ltrs sounds about right but i always had problems disolving it but have been told to use hot water since. I do wonder though if hot water may kill off any ingrediants? Phil
  17. As i've said before you will not breed yellow from a yellow hen unless the cock carries the yellow gene! As wayne has said above his yellow was bred from a yellow hen when paired to a mealy cock. The mealy cock was bred from a yellow hen so will carry the yellow gene! White is always a dilute of something and can throw any colour!
  18. not sure of the origins
  19. I think somebody called Dave Cork flew them fairly well.
  20. Have a go Alf, you never know!
  21. They are sprinters but never seemed to take off over here, have raced a few but they wern't any better than anything else!
  22. I only know John through the shows and not sure how well he does racing but the birds he gets in the supreme champion class at Blackpool are flown birds.
  23. this is from Steve Stoker Delbars!
  24. have you seen John Bells? How many shows has he now won in Scotland with flown birds? Crosses!
  25. no, mine don't fly out now. I've got a few crosses in the race loft this year but havn't flown the show racers out now for nearly 20yrs.
