    threatning pms

I know some who have received threats from bullies, I know who sent them and I know they were reported but nothing happened!
  2. Correct, but also if you have youngbirds from elsewhere they don't settle until they've had a good bath.
  3. the birds having a bath whilst sitting creates humidity which anybody who uses an incubator knows the importance off. If we were hatching pheasant eggs etc under broodies we would dip the broody into warm water a couple of times near hatch date, this gave a much better hatch rate.

    threatning pms

abusive pm's should be dealt with in the same manner as abusive threads! There does seem to be a minority that feel the need to threaten others, if members receive these threatsthen just block the sender and report the threads.
  5. A good bird, in condition with plenty of natural oil in its feathers won't get water logged, in my experience a water logged bird ain't no good!
  6. just because somebody else does it doesn't make pulling flights the right thing to do!

    distance pigeons

If you are looking for birds to form a team for the distance then obtain stock from lofts that consistantly do well at the distance you are looking to fly and also birds that fly into hard terrain, i.e Scottland etc

    ADVICE PLEASE

Don't people read the threads? How does anybody know if its any good? 1st post says its an 08 bird so how can anybody claim its crap when it won't have been bred from! Those that bother to read what's written will see!
  11. I would breed early and use the heat and conditions to your advantage along with the right feeding to get them through the moult before racing! Why don't you race oldbirds and what do you do with them at the end of the season?

    jm couriers

when a courier collects from you for the first time then ask them for a couple of spare boxes, if you intend to use them again then you can have the birds ready. If they are not prepared to leave you with a couple then they will have to wait as we are not all in a position or have a local shop that we can buy boxes from without paying delivery charges!
  13. The idea of the lightness system is to get the birds through the moult before racing as oposed to darkness where you delay the moult before racing starts to give the birds a full wing.
  14. read up on lightness and get them through the moult, don't let them start and then try to check/stop it!
  15. There should be some kind of points system where a bird is awarded points for position/winning relative to competition/birdage etc. When a bird wins a point or points the owner gets it verified from the organisation and this is then registered with the union. Once the bird has acumulated a certain amount of points it can be awarded a champion certificate, then and only then can it be called a champion. Currently anybody can name anything a champion as some studs do year after year!
