nobody wants to see it, whoevers involved. Timbarra was banned and since has been reinstated seems to be causing nothing but more trouble!

    Locking Threads

As has been said above certain people like to cause trouble and keep dishing it out but as soon as they receive retaliation they cry wolf, throw there toys and complain to admin/mods!
  10. A member in our club had this last year and its a varient of paramyxo! Firstly started in youngsters, by the time he'd lost half the team he killed the rest because a vet had diagnosed YBS and they were getting wrong treatment. Then it moved into his yearlings which had been jabbed the previous season so again killed the lot, burnt all interior fittings in the loft, flooded the place with virkon-s. Thinking the problem was gone it then started in his stock loft at his own house (his race loft is in his fathers garden). Again it was suspected to have come in on a couple of new youngsters. Wattle, have any started dieing yet? It is a lesson learned here, never mix or introduce birds from different sources until you have quaranteened for 7 days! Is this not also what went through the Scotland one loft race last year?
  11. more birds John?

    wing theory or fact

winners always have a good wing, good eyesign, two of each, balance, good feathering etc etc but how many can judge these charictoristics before a bird becomes a winner?
  15. Should say an "Old British Strain" imported to Australia and only when an Australian has formed a family blended etc over time can they be called "Australian"!
  16. if the birds are not used to getting a bath then just leave the bath in the loft section for a day, put it in 1st thing and leave it there. I'd be suprised if you came home to find they hadn't bathed and once they know what it is and what your bath looks like then move it outside the loft and they will recognise it!
  17. The only multiple one my neighbour has used with his youngsters is FMT Allround Mix from DAC pharmasuticals. It does canker (trichomoniasis, hexamitiasis), paratyphoid, E-coli, and bacterial infections. The birds were bouncing after he used it. It contains Furaltadone HCI 12%, Metronidazol 20% and Chloortetracycline HCI 10%
  18. some nice birds there greenfingerz
  19. I would make a slideing ceiling from thin ply with an air gap between and the blind at the front only covers your windows and doesn't cover the vents. Darkness is creating dusk and not a complete blackout, your are creating a restfull state for the birds.
  20. use some curtains or a roller blind
  21. I thought cut off for delivery to Cheltenham was 5th April!
  22. where are the yb's Chris?
  23. hopefully they have cleaned there system out but it would be an idea to remove the plants they have been pecking at to prevent it happening again. Give them some greens in the loft to peck at as they may be lacking in something
  24. did you notice them pecking any particular plants as certain plants will cause sickness?
  25. those that don't come in when they are called don't get fed! they'll be first in next time but you have got to get your feeding right, right amount at the right time and you need to get them out of the habit of sitting on the roof either yours or youe neighbours or that'll be the first place they go on race day!
