Either use RPRA rings or you can get your own rings made with your name and address on incase any get lost. Or you can ring them with both but you will need to be an RPRA member to obtain rings through them.

Why not go one step further, the RPRA/Union could split the country up into postcode areas, each area would be permitted 2 clubs, 1 north and 1 south, any member residing in that area could not be refused membership unless for serious missconduct. It would stop all the silly breakaway clubs and in the long run would reduce costs by more working together!

anything can be stamped "vaccinated" but it doesn't mean it is but with many of the rules, like wingstamping its not the rule thats at fault its the fact the unions don't apply the rule!

The main problem with all current couriers is often the time they have to wait for a collection. Sometimes you are lucky and the chosen courier happens to be in the required are the next day but often the wait can be upto a week to get a bird collected which can cause problems if the bird is with a non fancier etc. This will never be resolved until the couriers work together and network.

It all depends on how you plan to race, if you can build a team of 12 quality birds they will see you through the season if handled the right way. A very good friend of mine only ever started the season with 12 and bred 10 yb's, he was always the guy to beat in the club, fed and combine.

Careful when sending birds with mates that don't keep pigeons. Make sure they know where its safe to let birds go, away from wires, busy roads etc etc as i've seen many birds thrown away by being liberated in stupid places.

also make sure you have all the relevent paperwork or your purchases could be confescated at the port!

imature birds or birds 1st eggs will often be small but they will get bigger/normal. The shell looks very thin which could be a calcium deficiency though!
