;D ;D ;D a lot of folks dont know this but ;D ;D ;D johnny kirkpatrick stayed in loanhead, about a half mile from my house,, he was very freindly with p, and j thompson [who owned the shoe shop in loanhead], and like arther hill of st just, was both, master breeder and racer,, , p, and j, scored well at the distance with exchanged pigeons, with johnny kirkparick, who then moved down to the solway area,,and as o,y, says his birds were based on the old bricoux/sion [same as dr anderson of armadale] lines, plus the putman breeds , many decendants of these johnny kirkpatrick lines are still winning to-day

sometimes there is rubbish for sale, but i suppose thats up to the buyer, but im of the opinion there are many" different,, same distance pigeons " my veiw is to have pigeons that have won at the distance, in your own particular terrain, these are the ones that are important to you,,,, if i could explain by saying, if i were racing 5-600 miles into scotland , i would be prepared to purchase birds that have either done this journey,or terrain, well, or birds bred from them, as close as possible ,,,,,,,,, at the other end of the scale, i wouldnt want birds that have won , at this distance, say, in holland [im sure the same would be vica-versa,,] im sure there are variations in between

these posts were NOT removed by the" one and only jimmy white" ,this has an abusive tone to it,,,,, they were ,,merely transferred to chit chat ,, maybe its just worth checking first, before complaining,, any posts that have been transferred, by myself , to the webmasters private thread, by any member,, [no posts are deleted] I have allways gave an answer as to the reason why,, if they have pm,d me. we have mods on here both ,past and present , that have spent much of their time, to make this forum , the best pigeon forum going,, all mods try to be as fair as poss,,a few members, make it particularly difficult for them,,,most members are fine ,, ,many past, good moderators, have been quite sickened by this , and had quite simply had enough,, and as seen by quite a few of the previous postings it is quite easy to understand,

might just be lucky blaz,, surely cant be far away,, not a lot to go on, but at least something,, hope you get the bird back
-
its understandable to be vey keen on the first race comming up, , but maybe worth a thought , that the racing will go on untill july,, so birds trained early for this first race , cannot be kept race fit, throughout this time, until july ,, maybe just a thought
-
yes , thats the one i mean,, sometimes with a little luck, you can get a real good one free,, for the dis-mantle /uplift etc,, maybe even worth looking at the last couple of weeks issue,,you just never know your luck,, hope you have success

quite happy with the s,a,c,c [scottish agricultural college] at the" bush estate" near pennicuick ,, the doctor there is a most helpfull and gennuine guy, and an expert top avian vet, knowing him fairly well, over the years , will take the time to answer any questions i put to him , a real gentleman
-
best thing for a start,, as it will happen again but remembering a pigeons temprature is about 4 degrees higher than ours, it may not feel this as bad as you think, but as you say the breathing would be the worst prob, probably best , just put the bird a cardboard box,, in peace and quiet,[no stress] , let nature do the rest,,

ive tried to send him a pm,, blocked , so can only think, hes logged off , for some reason,,,,and forgot to log on ,or poss forgot password

some quick pics taken of the 6 white pigeons that i had sent up by sue [pecked hen] the pics probably dont give them real justice , but have to say these birds have been realy well reared and handle great ,,[wee gaz is to get two as a prezy ;D] itll encourage him , no end ,as he loves these white ones , not sure about his dad though ;D [the lads eleven years old ] im sure his dad will be happy once he handles them

the cock, usually throws its first flight, when sitting about 12 days [with the hen] on their second round [not allways the case though ] by seperating the hen , when sitting about 8 days, usualy ensures the cock will hold his flights, for longer, hopefully enableing him to race in the later months ,,, whereas if on natural, and allowed to sit, this second round , would start throwing his flights , then when the bigger, or longer races ar here , he would be on his 4th and 5th flight, then beginning a body moult , thats really why the natural fliers mate up later ,usually for the races in july

with due respect, i find these aluminium carrying boxes [with individual, compartments and are perforated at each end , causes damage to the birds tails [these, off course, may well not be the ones you mean ]

my above post was meant in this way,, any really good fancier near him,, seeing all, [that we cant see] , would either see for himself, if theres anything obvious reasons,[which there could well be,as yb,s will pick at anything, in gutters etc] ,, or advise a vet, if need be

know your enemy (not the person THE RAPTORS)

i notice ,,",since the decline in the 50,s and 60,s" [d,d,t was blamed],,,, "the perigrine has made a good recovery, brittain has the most significent population in europe" off course, this is well known!!!,, but when is this "significent population" going stop,, this "significant population " will multiply, each year,, dramaticly,, which it has done since the 50,s ...fast!!! -
i think if the other yb,s getting the same feed are ok,, maybe not feed to blame ,,,more inclined to think cocci,, good luck anyway
-
i would say, wooden , or wicker ,, but not overcrowding the basket or crate
-
well done thunderboult

hi, greenhills, i see your fairly new to the fancy, i can understand your frustration at this,, its very difficult to diagnose any ailment over the internet, maybe if theres a good knowledgable fancier near you, who can see your whole set up, feeding etc etc he might be able to help/advice better,,,, but on the info you have supplied ,and in my opinion,i would keep them in, for, say a week, and treat for cocci,,keeping the loft clean each day , with maybe some harkers loft treatment , brushed on floor and perches [am i right in saying, that the yb,s still to be weaned,s droppings are ok]

original post,,,,,please post on topic of this poster apologies to members, for transferring some, off topic posts ,, it is very easy to go off topic, then into a personal debate, which then spreads,to other posters,,, then becomes destructive, rather than instructive.
