difficult to suss out over the internet, but a possibility, of air being trapped in between the skin and the crop, this causes a blown up look on the bird,, if it is this, you will be feel the trapped air, and can puncture this outer crop skin with a needle [only the outer skin] then the air can be dis=pelled , but best have an avian vet look at it first

welcome to the site greywings,, above all, enjoy your pigeons,,,, one of the most fascinating birds, quite able ,if kept correctly, to fly back to you, from up to [and over sometimes] 600 miles , with no tom tom ;D no maps or street signs ;D, absolutely amazing birds,and, if any cosolation, ;D female pigeon keepers,[especialy , the likes of yourself, with previous experience in bird keeping/breeding] usualy have a knack in keeping , and racing pigeons , have more patience, learn more,have more know how ;D and more common sense than their male counterparts ;D best of luck ,kindest regards, and look forward to your posts

it does work, ill try and photograph this , when i have time ,,, [and energy ;D] but the pigeons lap it up, and love it,, when used to it, will just sit on the palm of your hand for ages,,

hi mark, maybe once you get over this bad race, you will think differently, maybe try and have a little patience yet, i think most pigeon fanciers have had races like this,and probably a lot more to come, unfortunately, theres allways more downs than ups in pigeon racing, which actually makes the winning any prizes , more satisfying, take no notice of fanciers who gloat about this, its certainly no joke to any owner , when this happens, youve the yb,s starting shortly, so why not give it a bash,, give it your best shot ,,stay on the forum, learn what you can , then who knows, next year at this time, you might be posting your first best of luck mark,,stick in their mate, and show em
