strays do the strangest things they most cerainly do,, a race rubbered
yb came in [many years ago] stamped wing,, belonging b/pool,, in loft for two days,, phoned up owner,he asked me to keep it,, i told him , i would first give the bird a chance,, and send it , as a trainer to penrith [nearer b/pool than the lothians ] the bird returned here, then sent to lancaster ,,came back here,, he then transfered the bird, which, then raced right on to the yb nat,,
the following year , as a w/hood cock , sent to longtown 4th bird, 7th in club,, then penrith 2cnd bird 4th club,, winning the pools [this was a club sending 600 birds at that time]
after winning the pools £80 odd on the sat from penrith,,the bird dissapeared next day [sunday] ,,,phone call that evening,,,,the bird was back in the original loft in b/pool ;D i,e it flew approx 100 miles north on sat to win the pools, then 150 miles back south next day to his old loft,,,,a year later,, ;D nowt so strange as pigeons ;D
