i have taken the liberty of un-locking, then re-locking this post , due to respect for my fellow mods,,,and for the benefit, and respect of the countless decent members we have. one of our more recent mods, have had the most cowardice attack , by a most cowardice means, this attack has caused this mod to fear for his family,lose time at his place of work, and indeed cause great concern to other mods, and , i hope cause great concern to the 99pc to our great members, ALL MODS [PAST AND PRESENT], HAVE HAD THIS IN THE PAST,,,, , non-more than myself, i.e the most disturbing, horrifying and shocking , self destructing e,mails on a christmas eve [these sent to an old, dis-abled man living on his own], this 1 p.c. of our great members, is off course the work of complete and utter cowards , and will not be tolerated in the least ,i,e "the most severe action taken". i would ask for our great members assistance in rooting out the perpretators of these evil deeds ,,, and in doing so, aiding our great pigeon forum, "the biggest and best pigeon forum, on-line ".to go forward ,and to help, and aid, all pigeon keepers , novices and old hands alike , on the many fascinating aspects of pigeon keeping ,the way it should be .

this could be true,, but this is why you have saliva ,, to rid these germs ,, this saliva contains a certain type of anti biotics , that helps kills infections to the mouth

when yb,s become flying fit,, their energy sometimes outwits their brains,, , these yb,s will probably have got mixed up with trainers , or travelled to far "out of range" i would say its a good sign you got three back,, ill bet you near get them all back to-morrow [i certainly hope so] ,, natures way of equalizing their energy and brains, most of these yb,s will be all the better for this , much harder to loose in future ,, good luck in getting good returns tomorrow, i sincerely hope you do

yes, i would have to agree with owen here, , but would it be poss to build an aviary , this would give them more room , a good racing pigeon avian vet would advice one half to a cubic metre per bird, depending on the ventilation

cant say ive heard of pigeons eating bananas, or dried banana, but maybe so maybe sugars in dried banana?? :-/

could be a few things in my opinion,, something in its eye, . a pick by another bird in the eye, one eye cold . golden eye ointment helps, even a dab with a cold tea bag, but a spit in the eye, yes a spit from a non-drinker and non-smoker, preferably a childs spit, contains a certain human anti-biotic , which can cure this,

if its any consolation , i knew a great fancier who actually named his bird peanuts,, this is all it would eat, as much as he tried,, but after the bird scored,[at the distance] let it have its way,, and it scored a few times since . i think there are many roads leading to rome concerning pigeons, ,i would prefer a diet with less peanuts [but beleive by giving a few, are more than good for distance races, ] if the bird will only eat peanuts , [which they love] and even a little corn i would tend to feed the corn first , then of an evening , give it it speanuts at a limited amount ,and work the bird harder, if they are well used to peanuts , it can sometimes be wrong , at this time , to break this habit [especialy nearing the longer races],, the time to try changing is well b4 this time , but, as said b4 , pigeons have won long hard races , with peanutpower ;D good luck
