  1. well done all,
  2. after speaking to a few fifers on sat , i would have to agree with dandydoo, allthough im not taking anything away from peter bryant ,im sure hes doing his best as far as i can make out we have the childish "digs"at shu, rpra situation, i would more be remembering the words of bruno some time ago,"we should all be fighting for us , not among us" and paying more attention to his post above,
  3. brilliant speight, and you beat dad as well ;D ;D ;Dim sure he wont mind, great result for both of you,,,,jw
  4. i would agree with you there ray , only thing maybe wed have to clarify what was sprint distnces , what was middle distances, and what would be distance [ in miles]
  5. i used to do as jas[ above ] did, but put boards against the wall , maybe some bricks with a board on top, put some straw in , and let them get on with it, it was easy taken out and replaced the following week
  6. yes i would say , snowy, but if you feed a few handfulls of depurative first, then their mixture, they should fly well round the loft and range, if they do this they will be hungry enough next day, [but dont leave any lying after their feed] just wait untill they start getting pernickety, then stop

  18. i would definately agree with rose " time and patience" and im quite sure rose would agree that its easier said than done,, the pitfalls the downs, will try your patience to the limit, its often hard enough to keep them till their mature enough, with all the obstacles in the way, nowadays,,but to see one drop to you from , 5to 600 miles plus, is really some feeling :'( :'( ;D ;D

    Feeding ybs

:)good lad westy, a lot of fancier" race to the corn tin" by starving ybs ,these fanciers never go far, theres a happy medium, when needed
  20. i have had the odd white one do well, mind you ive never had alot of whites, so if i were to look at the odds , the whites would be as good as any other, i voted for the whites to have scored but got a shock when i seen the poll
  21. whatever breed , the 600 miler has to have that certain something, that many birds dont have
  22. about foreign rings i think they can be re registered with your union if you have the regisration card,,about the wing stamps , my opinion is all ybs should be wing stamped [ in shu only ybs] also coiled address rings , trouble is a lot of fanciers dont want them back,,,,,to tight to be responsible for their own birds.
  23. good post by preston powerblast [where have you been :)] and again by rose, if you go far enough back, youll find all sorts in these "modern breeds" see the post i put on about how many breeds we could think of, i think there were about 200, they cant all be champs,, course bens will be ;D ;D ;D

    Feeding ybs

like to see the ybs with a full crop when roosting at night, ybs that are flying well have usually digested it by morning, and are soon peckish again
  25. yes jas ,i hope you can get rid of that hawk, about you, 6 pigeons and it will want more, all you can say is be prepared ,,with something thatll frighten it off
