in my opinion, most ailments with pigeons are caused by stress [ which could cover many things] if we had good ventilation , dry lofts, clean lofts, less birds per loft, keeping birds tame and at" home in their loft", and the constitution bred in to them,less antibiotics,and more buckets [not meant in a bad way] i think you would save a lot of money, and reap the benefits

i agree with mike lycett,........ tylan will cure it, but itll lower their resistence in the long run,,,its all about strong constitution, bred through and through

i would much prefer that myself wings, maybe a couple of warm ups b4 racing , and maybe a toss if they missed a race, otherwise if the results were there , i would leave well alone [it can be a long season[ all the best for todays race]

FOR RACING UP TO 360 MILES, HOW OFTEN WOULD YOU TRAIN THEM, AND WHEN WOULD YOU START, OR WOULD YOU BE HAPPY TO SEE THEM DO 1HOUR ROUND LOFT AM AND PM , OR ANY OTHER, :)

I USED TO BASKET TRAIN THEM AS YOUNG AS POSIBLE, FEED THEM,, WAIT A WHILE THEN POUR THE WATER FROM THE WATTERING CAN INTO THE DRINKERS, AND LET THEM HEAR IT SPLASH, FOUND THEY LEARNED VERY QUICKLY, AND WERE VERY CALM IN THE BASKET

FLYING RATS ,,EATING ALL SORTS OF INFECTED BIRDS, WOULDNT WANT TO SEE THEM SUFFER, JUST WOULDNT WANT TO SEE THEM??? IF THE PUBLIC GOT THIS SAYING IN THERE HEAD, WITH AVIAN FLU AROUND, REMEMBER SOME MIGRATE, THINGS COULD BE SLIGHTLY DIFFERANT

i think if you go back on the forum youll find a lot of posts on yb sickness, my own opinion is most fanciers have two many ybs per cubic metre of air space, or even [if well ventilated [ a half cubic metre of air space,,, any more than that means, STRESS,,, THE MAIN CAUSE OF YB SICKNESS and i say this through bitter experience. i find it odd that most fanciers want a cure,,but dont seem to worry about the cause

your a true pigeon lover, fifer, for all what you have done for the fancy, you need a pat on the back, not aggro.i wish you the best in the comming season[ actions are louder than words]
