  1. used a red light many years ago for the xmas race ,, with 3 hens in one loft also a mild heater was 3d winning £800 ;D ;D [but this was these hens only race ]

  3. hi old guy not sure of the answer to that but should imagine the white racer would be the best flier , then there are white tumblers ,tiplers etc that can stay on the wing for hours , i recently heard a chap flying his white german beauty homers well around the loft ,, i should imagine white fantails would be at the bottom of the list ,,, if its the best white racer you mean,, there are various breeds and just like normal colours some good ,,some bad
  4. yes i agree,, maybe ask,, something ive always wondered about,,, does a pigeon fly faster the first mile of its race ,,,or faster on the last mile of its race

  7. yes this is a very good way for your condition ,,,,,,i think it was keith mott who actualy just raced them to boxes placed along the wall, there are ways and means wish you success which ever way you decide

  9. i agree dodgeon be it moderator or member [were all members] i have voted for a two week ban ,, but would follow that up with a full time ban ,if not adhered too ,,lifes too short to argue ,,and pigeons will keep you going for ages so it really would be nice to have a happy peacefull forum about pigeons
  10. keep looking at the for sale posts , might get them very cheap [or cheaper ] anyway hope something turns up for you, sometimes a bit of luck comes along unexpectantly

  19. yes the birds really enjoy lettuce, often with a little salt on,, but green cabbage contains more iron than lettuce,,,,,,my old dad used to hang one up with the roots and earth still on ,, they loved it ;D
  20. when you say ,",healthy pigeons" probably not in my opinion ,,,,,,but i often wonder if it helps birds if theve had a hard time ,i,e been out for a while and run down, especialy yb,s... or ob,s feeding youngsters,, at least the thing is with johnsons iron tonic , what is not used will pass through,,, so wonder what forum thoughts on , on this one an iron tonic for humans is usualy for anem,,,anemi,,, anae ,,,bloodlessness ;D ;D ;D
