Hi Delboy, This is indeed mate an old arguement,which was being talked about when i left the sport some 10 years ago. East V West,yet it still rumbles on,up till recent days you guys were going down the west coast.Don,t get me wrong you have done the right thing by the proverble mile.However you know in a couple of year it will raise its head,after some bad returns from the east. I have long since argued, we should go down the side that offers the best weather any perticular week.We need to be more addaptable and open to change mate. Will the Midland Fed listen to your words of wisdom? i think not mate i think not Hope it goes well for you Lanarkshire fanciers.

OldYellow Guess one of the first things to do is draw up a list of Issues to be examined. You are right to say that this site may hold some of the Answers to our way forward. Change, for the right to change As i have already said this can not be done over night,it will take time and a great deal of thought but i for one think doing something , at least lets the powers at be knoe that the fanciers days of sitting back and doing nothing is over.

Phil, Hi Mate Surley if we compile a report on findings of a study they would at least listen to new thoughts and ideas. Like all politics,you have got to have a set agenda and proposals in order to get people to follow and support you. By going to the people by listning to them and taking this back to the authorities we would at least be seen to be trying. I thingk we could get someone to listen Phil

Homer, A man,s got to do what a man,s got to do. Most on this site have very good views and arguements and ALF is no exception. There can be little doubt Lanarkshire has its problems,and i am not sure that the written wordon this fourm,is the best way to solve them. To many say that the welfare of the birds should come first ,only to get carried away with what they want. The East and West Issue is easy resolved, go down which ever presents the best weather that week, and be prepared to move once down there to east or west. I know it sounds simple but just sometimes the simple things are best. Happy days

Through discussions on this site there is no reason why a comprahensve study, could not be carried out by interested parties,working together in order to highlight the decline putting it into numbers,and ideas and proposals to reverse this trend. After a report has been compiled it could be presented at union level,and published in our press I for one would be interested in such a ventrure Not just change for change sake

True Rose, We need someone who is already in a position of authority, to make changes and to argue points for and against, various issues within our sport. A committee who can comunicate and compile a report on the decline and posable proposals in order to attempt to save it, and change our fortunes.T his could be done at uk Level. The results of our decline alone (Numbers past and present) may just be enough to prompt a change within our sport.

In many ways Red you are right, they are only as good as the support,and the power we give then,and that is sadly not enough You are right they give there time for our sport and we should be thankfull for that

Most interesting thread.Statements like i will just enjoy it while i can,is simply not good enough. Weehave loads of work to do in order to secure the future of our great sport,and a total top to bottom reconstruction from union level down. Strong leadership would draw up Fed and Club boundries.Why this is not based on Parlimentry or Local government seats is beyond me. (Example) The Midland Fed,where is Midland,take it is so called due to the fact it is midway between,Lanarkshire and say the North West Fed. Safe to say at least 90% of that Fed fly from within the regeon of North Lanarkshire.If its good enough for our Schools and infrostructure why is it not good enough as a fedaration area Because wee wullie feel out with Big George years ago, where i stay is not allowed in the local club,so you traval some 5 /10 miles and join that club ,and you get treated like an out cast. We can do a lot better than this going forward but it will take fundamental changes in order to lay the foundations to turn things round BUT IT COULD BE DONE.
