On the topic off Sparrowhawks. John Honeyman & Son got a shock a couple of days ago, when a sparrowhawk was in his young bird hut, and had taken the head of a young bird. Can we take any action when this happens? He managed to stroke it before it left the hut in a rush.

I was given a huge surprise whan i was informed by Brian Chalmers that the Welsh boys had got together and between arranged to send up 40 young birds, now what do you say to a gesture like that. I wish i could take all the birds that were offered to me but i would need to build 20 lofts to house them, divorce would follow after that. lol. I just cant say thanks enough, and i hope to meet some if not all of you in the years to come. I wish you all the very best in 2008, i,ll keep you all posted. Just a short note to let you all know that i,ve dusted myself down and started to focus again. I will be racing from Otterburn this weekend with 3 of my 6 survivors of the arson attack. I,ve been training them as much as i can, and i dont see any ill effects, which is great news. I,m flying x2 3 year old hens and x1 yearling cock, i was left with 3 hens and 3 cocks which happily have paired up. We will see how we go this week, it will be pretty hard to beat Brian Chalmers though who took the firts 10 positions last week in our first race. Once again thanks for all the support i,ve recieved and encouraged me to keep going. forever indebted.

Thank you very much. I,m not going to the first race due to not having enough time to get my survivors fit, and to check their ok. The weather isnt helping either, but they are settled into their new 5 star accomodation, and having a ball. Its pretty heart breaking to see them without their original partners, but at the same time its heart warming to see that the 3 cocks have paired with the 3 hens. If i were to win the first race i think i,d get hung lol, would be quite fitting though. i,ll let you all know how i get on.

At 7.45am this morning, i was woken out of my bed by a knock (not banging), on my door, to find Blakes lofts waiting to deliver my new loft. The 3 guys started at 1am from Dudley and i was the first port of call. They set about their tasks and had my 12ft x 6ft 2 sections loft complete with 2 sputniks, built and complete by 8.25am. They only wanted x1 cup o t, as they had another 4 lofts to deliver and build. They reckon to be back in Dudley by 1am tomorrow. All i can say is that Blakes lofts are a credit to our sport and the way the guys done their jobs is a credit to their bosses. I now have a new fence erected and new loft erected and rareing to go. However i,m still aprehensive about what happened to me, that i,m not allowing myself to be as excited as i would normally be. Time is a great healer so heres hoping that it is. To all the people who have supported me through this traumatic time, giving me advise, offers of birds, offers of anything to help me, thank you all very much, i dont have the words that match your generosity. Unikon have advised all users to ugrade to the latest programme, which is 2.85. After speaking to Dougie Bald, he was waiting on Unikon informing him of what the upgrade actually was. The easiest and quickest way to do this is for secretaries to go onto www.pigeon-ets.com, and download from there. Once the club base station is upgraded, then put your clock into the base station which will update your clock. All that needs to be done next is for the updated clock be put into all users in your clubs base stations, which upgrades their base stations, then place their own clock into their own base station which will in turn upgrade their clocks. Done. Gogglygook i know, and why the hell they have decided to do this as everyone has just started or going to start a brand new season is beyond me, but hey ho.

All systems go, i,m bloody knackered lol. i,ve got all the mess cleared and i,ve been doing my elderly neighbours as well, as her garden was ruined too. I,ve got a new loft coming on Wednesday from Blakes who have been brilliant at getting it to me so soon. The only thing i,m finding difficult is that i dont want to put any effort in to making feeders ect. i guess its because i seen all my hard work dissappear in minutes, so i,m opting to buy things. Got a wee buzz back in myself again so looking forward to getting going. I am aiming to be at the first old bird race from Kelso, with 2 of my survivors, if they are up to it off course.

It is time that the goverment and the courts actually took their heads out their ar*es and started to deal with these thugs in the only way that is fit. I always say a life for a life, whether its human or animal, not a slap on the wrist like now. I got told the other day ref: my loft being burned down, that nothing yes nothing can be done unless someone grasses this little sh*t up. Hello all, just a wee update on my situation. Rumour has it that the person who we all think is the culprit, has been taken into the police and questioned. As of yet i havent heard from the officer dealing with it. I had my insurance group come around today to asses the damage for my claim. It is with deep regret and sadness that i have decided not to fly another pigeon from this address. We were intending moving in 2/3 years time, but this incident has brought that forward by 2/3 years. I will not be beaten though as i intend to be racing again next year from our new home, i will be trying to catch the young bird 2009 season. Can i please say a huge thank you for everyones support and advice that i have recieved through this hellish ordeal, i am truly humbled. I wont forget what wonderfull people you all are. Boomerang lofts, like its name, will come back to fight another day, once again thank you all.

Thats the frustrating part about it, that the birds and all were defenceless. Just shows how much of a wimp he actually is.

It should be in the courier today with a photo of myself surounded by my remains of the loft. I,ve also contacted the sun newspaper as well. I dont know if it will appear on the tv or not as we missed the deadline yeaterday. I ,m trying to use my demise to help the pigeon faternity. I,ll keep updating as it happens.
