  1. cocks, I sent two untried cocks and was 1st and 2nd. Lucky b...... eh ? ;D
  2. Midland at Lockerbie. :'(
  3. I think the future will see metal rings with built in E.T.S chips
  4. You never know Clockie. I think I may have one or two capable. I will say this, the date for the race is perfect because July is the best month of the year for consistent good weather .
  5. The days of Culzean Victor are long gone im afraid, unless everyone from the west started sending their birds again. Jimmy, when Kennedy won Rennes there were 1000s of birds sent from the west, especially Ayrshire. The fanciers in the west were scoring regularly and their returns were usually very good. The last Gold Cup winner in the west section was Matt White of Paisley in 1980, almost 30 years ago.We all know that wind is a major factor in pigeon racing but in Nationals,I think, drag is an even bigger factor.
  6. Saintes, how far is that to central Scotland and what date is it flown
  7. Maybe your right Davie but where do you draw the line. You wont please everybody no matter what you do. I suggested a few years ago at a SNFC committee meeting that there should be 3 regions from east to west. East, Midland and West. This idea may have encouraged more people to join and compete in the National, but it still leaves the complications of who flies where. :-/ :-/
  8. Hi Doo, I have always tried to compete in the S.N.F.C even when I flew in region F, now section F. Granted, I raced into one of the better areas for this section but now I race in section E and am probably flying into the worst area of this section but still competing.Just keep trying and one day, you will find you have a family of birds to handle the disadvantages of flying into the extreme west of Scotland. 9. Absolutely spot on but, I have found as soon as I put my birds onto the darkness system, they get stressed and the yb sickness appears. All things taken into account has led me to believe, LESS STRESS MORE SUCCESS ;)
  10. Velocity, 0.02688 yards per minute. Rednyellow, I hope you appreciate me working out this velocity for you. Only kiddin mate, we all know that these birds are the business .Ten months of learning the country, brill. ;)
  11. Thats going to be one for the future or are you going to feed it up and send it to Lockerbie next week ;D ;D
  12. I know what you mean but surely they could have got 100 miles at the start of May when the wind is in the west and the temperature is more pleasing. Maybe its different in England, but here in baltic Scotland we try and take it easy with our channel candidates at the start of the year. :-/
  13. I know plenty of millionaires who couldnt fly a kite in a windy day.Thats not to say money doesnt help because it does, but you cannot take anything away from this fellas management skills when he is taking the top 20 in this fed. Leave no stone left unturned to beat him next week
  14. What you doing sending good channel birds this early in the year in dodgy weather?
  15. Breed early enough and you dont need to darken.
  16. Totally agree
  17. What strain of doos are you flying and on what system
  18. That will do all of us.You cant demand success in this game. :-/
  19. Thats my bubble burst.Thank you Geordie. Can you no let a man dream ;D
  20. The best of luck mate. There is nothing better on this planet than seeing your wee bundle of feathers home from one of the Nationals. First or last, the buzz is unbelievable.
  21. Want to win 2 or 3 Nationals Alf. Do you think I am setting my sights too high :D

  24. Hi folks, Can anyone advise me on where I can purchase 6 pair of feeders here in central Scotland preferably.I would also accept tumblers as they are good feeders as well, I am led to believe. Cheers, Big Derek
