  1. Aye Rab, I can understand both sides of it. I watched a partnership lift most of the fed trophies one year in the n.west fed and another partnership won the fed 9 weeks in a row and got next to nothing.Without doubt the guys winning 9 in a row were the top fliers in the fed but a few folk disagreed with that??

  9. Averages are a great thing, to time in every race nowadays is a great feat.Ive been lucky enough to win Combine averages in 3 different feds.If your talking about national averages, ITS A DIFFERENT KETTLE OF FISH, ITS THE DOGS B.LLOCKS GETTING CLOSE.Ive been lucky there also.
  10. You have highest prize winner as a separate thing Rab, im talking about averages. The highest prize winner is the best flier that year usually.imo. I remember a guy winning the Glasgow fed averages and only getting one fed ticket.
  11. Why are you not interested in averages?
  12. Good luck Wullie and Jock, Scotlands only hopes.

  18. All above is true but you were saying heaters were basically madness in any loft.I think different John.By the way, I dont use heaters in my loft as often as I would like to but would if I could afford it.
  19. Its all about expending energy, pigeons regulate their temperature by opening/closing their feathers so this crap about making them tough by keeping them in an aviary is nonsense.Have you ever been in a loft when its minus 10degrees, the birds look perfect. Therefore the cold doesnt affect them BUT it does burn up energy, hence them eating like fk in the winter.Thats why it is advisable, but not essential, to make them as comfy as poss after a race to aid recovery and SAVE ENERGY.
  20. A wee bit strong fae you Owen, the guy is asking a very good question and deserves a decent reply.By the way, Wiley is 100% correct, plenty of vaccinations for respiratory , I remember Chevita doing one.
  21. Heaters in the loft are a definate asset to speed up the recovery of your pigeons after a race. Ideally the loft temperature should be almost the same all day and all night, preferably not changing more than 7 degrees at night.
