  1. Your right m8.Ive been a member of the SNFC for over 40 years and I would never endorse anything that is detrimental to our pigeons.I was initially against Geraldys as I thought they looked very clinical and uncomfortable for our pigeons but after using them, I was very surprised at how beneficial they are to racing pigeons.Make no mistake, I speak only on facts and no hidden agendas with me.
  2. You and your officials are a credit to the Lanarkshire fed John, well done in making the largest fed in Scotland, the most attractive one as well. :emoticon-0167-beer:
  3. expletive remove what a performance by Wales, brilliant
  4. Brilliant game, both teams defense are awesome
  5. Ye canny win against these bookies Martin , they re tying everything up against the punter.Ive had some run ins recently with Mr Hills lol
  6. Well LF are in with a real shout then Rab, they tick all the boxes imo
  7. Do you know what the convoyer has had to do to water/feed the pigeons in recent years? He has to pull out all the baskets ( what if its raining ) to get into the corridor to put the drinkers on.He then pushes baskets back in.When the Midland fed transporter was first used, I was on the committee and complained about this.I was told a hydrolic arm was being made for the transporter so the baskets could be brought out in a few seconds. Was it ever done,NO.expletive remove, what kind of set up is this for transporting pigeons????? imo, one of the worst set ups ive ever seen in 40 years keeping pigeons.
  8. I can tell you this, if the SNFC even contemplate using transportation that is of a lesser standard than what is available to them, there will be some major repercussions.
  9. A very sensible post
  10. Wrong Bobby, one race only, the Gold cup.I actually asked for a recount because it was that close. It was passed at this years AGM that the transportation be put out to tender. That means, any transportation would be considered.( even if it was a transit van )The best is wanted for the best birds and also, its a wee bonus if you get a good deal out of it.( saving money)
  11. Didny know there was a contest here. We are disgussing the best transportation for the SNFC , no hidden agendas, no tongue in cheek, no innuendo, just honest opinions. Transparency in the pigeon game has been sadly missing for several years now.Dont you agree Davy
  12. Off topic
  13. I would say so well said.
  14. I think easy bed is very good
  15. Davy, it was decided at the AGM that the transportation was put out to tender. It was not stipulated it should be any particular type of transporter so I hope the SNFC committee dont even attempt to try and twist this decision ???? Nah, this cant happen, expletive remove I can hear the uproar as we speak
  16. As I said earlier Rab, the LF transporters will/can have shavings in them as they have a special bar in them to stop shavings going into the drinkers. Ive never had the birds come home with dirty feet m8.
  17. Rab,im not sure how its done, feed first for hour then watered probably. The birds at the back ( if 28 in crate ) would get plenty of chance to feed in an hour im sure.
  18. I totally agree with ye Rab, if youve got 30 birds in a basket. The nat only has 20-22 birds and the full width of the crate is available for feed.Plenty of room m8, ive witnessed it.
  19. lol, Wattie.
  20. Jim, its a transporter we are talking about. It doesnt make the doos better. You can have good doos in a wicker basket and bad doos in a Geraldy crate. The type of transporter wont change that. The same way they are watered Rab. ????????????????? we had the AGM LOL
  21. Throwing feeding onto sh ite, aye it worked but is it right?
  22. Members are missing the benefits that Geraldy bring over the traditional methods of transportation that we have been using.Heres a few, 1.Shutters are ventilated to allow air in, while at the same time they are double insulated to keep the heat out when the sun hits the vehicle.2.Pigeons have far greater access to water as the crates arewider by 4 inches, at the same time ,less chance of disease spreading as crates have individual drinkers which limits cross contamination especially when in crates for 3-7 days.3.Pigeons dont have to eat food grain from soiled floors like wicker baskets as they can be fed within inserts in drinking cgannel.4. Roof has 6 inches of insulation, this again controls the heat within the vehicle.5.Roof has vents to allow stale hot air to leave. 6.Fans to help extract stale air. 7.Each crate has fresh air pumped into it.Theres other advantages but Im pi ssed off typing lol.Now when you consider all the letters in the BHW, is it not now time to give the best pigeons in Scotland, the best quality transportation available ?
  23. I know the Germans laugh at us putting shavings in, they put 2 layers of cardboard in crates for the longer races. As I said in my previous post, LF has bars put in so they can have shavings.
  24. Im led to believe that the LF Geraldys have a metal bar built into frame to stop shavings spilling over from the crates into the drinking system. This means you could have shavings or easy bed or anything you wanted in the crates.Good forward thinking from these guys .But I still think you only need corrugated cardboard jmho
  25. As I said before, its all down to how many birds you put in a crate/basket. Overcrowd them and it doesnt matter what transportation you use.
