  1. I can understand that m8 as there is nothing more important to me than my family also.
  2. Security is a real concern in every club Vinnie.
  3. Ive to travel 30 miles every week to send my doos with LSC, If the national marked anywhere in Scotland, I would be there just the same.Hey, thats just me though, always been committeed to the SNFC.PS. When they had central marking, I had a business working 14 hours some days, a young family of which one was disabled, I was secretary of the big Kirkintilloch club 36 lofts, vice pres of fed, also on the SNFC committee. So, as ye see I was very committed to race in the SNFC races and nothing would stop me.
  4. Bobby, fk all silly about what im saying m8.Central marking happened in 2000 and 2001 with great results. This was held in Bathgate and all the committee were there from 12noon to 10pm. They had there dinner and tea/snacks etc and were treated appropriately as professional pigeonmen. The security in the SNFC is below par therefore central marking is a must. Also, workers used to be lettered and were handpicked, well known pigeonmen with good reputations. How its went downhill in every aspect of the above. As for the breaking point and fatigue factor, this is an intricate science and possibly too much for most doomen and thats why they dont consider it, it was the same with ets when it was introduced.
  5. Could we discuss what changes we think would make the SNFC the best racing organisation in the UK, the accolade it once had. Ill start it,with what I think would help things. 1. Total Security, a sub committee that deals with this contoversial subject. 2. Total transparency, accounts made available to all SNFC members with break down of all income/expenditure. 3. Modern website, photos, write ups , averages, ace pigeons, overall member performances etc. 4. Central marking at channel races, out lying places would have pigeons ferried in by appointed drivers who would be subsidised for this. 5. A wee bit radical here but I still say an invention of a breaking point plus fatigue factor formula. 6. A paid transport manager that is answerable only to the members.( he/she is completely responsible for all transportation/convoyers etc ) 7. The Secretarys position to be made part time or paid pro rata on membership, ie £8- £10 a member. 8. Hand picked respected workers for marking stations. We have anybody handling the birds now which is very amateurish and away from tradition.
  6. Not bad Davy, i could buy into that
  7. ill second it if you change the Gold cup to Reims
  8. expletive remove, bad news m8.If theres any in this area reported let me help you out by collecting them

the bookies will lose a fortune m8 George, is a really good blue nose name Geordie lol
  11. At least there coming Brian, I wouldn't lose hope just yet m8.It was 3 days before I got a doo from my disaster last year.Out of the 7 that homed, I have 4 out of Maidstone nat Fingers crossed they turn in m8, but one things for sure, its been an education for them.
  12. Ypres, Reims, Tours then Ypres
  13. All be there in the morning I hope m8
  14. Ye know, I would rather my pigeons were transported in a cardboard box as long as they were guaranteed access to water. WATER, WATER, WATER, that's the very key to success in these races. If there is any question mark of them not getting access as regular as they need then the transporters used are simply not good enough, omho.
  15. lol, roast spuds and sprouts m8.
  16. Everything from top to bottom in the SNFC has to be looked at imo.We have lost the professionalism that we were once admired for.
  17. Ill tell ye something, every single race with the SNFC this year has been a hard one with poor returns.Think its time for a change of transporters along with other things!!!!!Im not saying the transporters have caused the bad races but im not sure if they are the best available to the best pigeons in Scotland so, on that note, they may have contributed slightly to the disasters??
  18. Just got my 2nd pigeon from Ancensis, lol, is the race still open lol
  19. Well done Sinclair winning 1st open with a janssen van loon bred from my good friend Malcolm Taylors stock.
  20. Forgot all about it already Wattie Cheers, and again well done with yer yearling m8.
  21. Disagree with this part m8, the last national has birds entered that have been training and racing all year, in fact most in the convoy wouldve had an national already this year. So, I reckon 90% were fit and prepared for the job in hand.
  22. Terrible Davie, its becoming a game of chance. Theres not been a good SNFC race this year imo.
  23. Cheers Bob, *expletive removed* doo from Ypres landing at 7.29 this morning made me even worse, hero to zero lol.
