Ive had a total of 6 ybs hurt legs with wires this year. One I had to put down as its leg was hanging with a thread. Theres a lot to be said about tossing in 2s or 4s. Put them in a box full of shavings, they ll mend ok.

The mad part of the season is upon us with ybs getting reported everywhere. Lets play the game with each other and help each other out as much as possible. We cant attract any young people into our sport with the expense incurred with yb strays. Lets really make it part of our sport to help each other financially.

Some birds squeak even when they are older especially when getting bullied in the basket. But if it was a squeaker, as long as it is healthy then it is up to the owner if he enters it or not.The basket convenor looks for injuries and health, nothing more imo. My grandfather had a yb that was a lot younger than the rest of his birds, it had a 6 mile toss and was jumped into Penrith 102 mls and it topped the fed, it squeaked all the way home lol.( that's true )
