The trend is still distance racing Andy, its just that its a lot harder now so folk make excuses and go for the easier route to success ( sprint/middle )

Its not the distance really Tommy, its going with the national with yearlings that haven't had much experience. 300 miles with a fed is a lot easier than 300 miles with the National, especially when jumping from 160-170 mls.

Its not ideal jumping yearlings from 170 to a 300-330 mls national Geo, it would be much better giving them a 230-260 miler with a local fed first, then getting them into the second inland nat.imo. A lot of fanciers in your fed will stop their yearlings at Wetherby now that they haven't an option. omho. Ideally the best thing your members could do is get a race program proposal into the snfc without the first inland nat included.This would let ye go to Leicester or Peterborough to benefit yer yearlings.
