  2. :emoticon-0137-clapping: superb result
  3. I just witnessed a guy at the national marking put birds in the baskets without marking the counter up, expletive remove I checked him after he did it for the 3rd time, *expletive removed* unreal.
  4. Disappointing tournie for me
  5. I know him, hes a dodgy fker lol,
  6. expletive remove, go back there with other doos
  7. lol, that's understandable Geo, wheres he fly them?
  8. Aye we do call the shots Willie, but we seem to make seriously bad decisions on this because we are persuaded by manufacturers that crates can take x amount of birds when in fact, this is not true.
  9. The best pouter men can make decent racing men too Geo, they are dedicated to the game
  10. But still Peter, it will continue as some of the folk at the top haven't a clue about pigeons in general, they just like politics and holding officialdom. They don't recognise where we are failing our pigeons. Have you ever heard fanciers say '' the 3rd yb race is always a disaster'' or '' that's a bad racepoint, im not sending'' these are things that should be addressed!! Why is the 3rd race a disaster, why are racepoints supposedly bad? Its all in our hands to sort these things but still, we carry on as before.I was going off topic a bit there but it maybe all relevant to too many birds in the basket!!
  11. Hay and Currie ye mean lol
  12. Ive heard people say their crates can take 28 birds no problem BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURER SAYS SO!! This is commercialism and these people are only saying this to give their transporters they are selling to you more capacity and make them more appealing. Im 40+ years in this game and at no time have I ever looked in a basket/crate with 28 pigeons in and said, the pigeons look so relaxed and content. Get a grip folks, think of the pigeons and nothing more and the successful seasons will come. The other thing nowadays with Y.B.S rife,is for the first 3 races everyone should have their own crate/s. This stops cross infection and also lowers the stress on the ybs as they recognise their loft mates in the crate with them. If you have your own crate then both cocks and hens can go in there with no problems. Pigeonmen are daft at times , we create a lot of problems for ourselves.
  13. Have a gid yin mucker
  14. This is the behaviour I am talking about, *expletive removed* disgraceful Stu and you should stand your ground for the benefit of the pigeons.
  15. Sense at last,
  16. Cheers Baz
  17. I know what your saying m8 but statistically your wrong. The inland nats were introduced to encourage more members to have a go at THE GOLD CUP and channel races but it hasn't achieved this. Its still the same fanciers that go to these races and the inland races hasn't helped in any way imo, ps.I still enjoy them and will not miss them but the channel races is what the SNFC was founded on and should probably try and go back to that.
  18. This subject is a real bugbear of mine. In my opinion this is one of the reasons we have had bad returns from many races,in the past ( especially yb races ) Federations demand clubs to cram up to 28 birds into baskets/crates because they may not have enough room for all the birds on their transporter.( then go down the piggin road with the transporter half empty)To me, this is amateurish and completely without regard to the pigeons wellbeing and welfare. This also equates to false economy as it guarantees undue stress on the pigeons and this in turn results in many being lost .When birds are lost, revenue is lost . If a federation thinks it will be overwhelmed with birds for a race then it should put a limit on how many their members can send in the first 2 or 3 races and maybe run a mid week trainer/race to compensate the unraced birds from the previous weekend. I would honestly say I would never have more than 20 in any basket/crate at any race. Truthfully,do you think the birds look comfortable with over 20 in a basket? Sometimes less stress means more success!!
  19. Ill be there with a dozen, I think.
  20. Youve made a good point Tam, theres no way two race marking times should be overlapping.
  21. Im hoping to send 6 or 7, no training this year, just loft flying. All the best to everyone that sends to the biggest race of the year.
