The fact that many of the birds on offer are bred down from top national winning bloodlines obviously increases the chance of producing winners BUT there is never a guarantee. You pays your money and you take your chances and I bet there will be plenty big prices paid. I would say more chance of picking up a good un at this sale than the majority of the birds advertised weekly for sale with loads of paper pedigrees but very little performance to back them up
If your that worried about the money keep the trap shut and make sure the pooler goes in first. Mind you by the time you`ve done that you will probably have lost the race
so if someone gets called away to work due to an emergency its just his hard luck if his doos come when he is away. with an attitude like that you will certainly not encourage any new fanciers into the sport
i take it you dont have a car, or a microwave, tv, dvd, fridge, washing machine, computer (oh you must have one to be on here) etc etc etc. do you still run to the post office with your rubber rings? its called modern technology
well greig some folk have to work and at a 300+ mile race i would take the wife shopping in the morning. by the way i have ets and i was at the loft until 10.00pm last night and before 5.30 this morning. as for your idea what a load of bollocks. your obviously not a club official. dont you think they have enough to do. why not set up a premium rate phone number then anyone with an opinion can phone in and leave a message. the fed would make a fortune off it. then by the time the controller listened to all the comments it would be too late to let them up and we wouldnt lose any
Its hardly hindsight when the forecast last night was for heavy rain from the forth up for most of the day. If thats your opinion it proves you dont give a toss for the birds past the forth. I agree the early birds are on time and there are some outstanding birds into fife and dundee despite the weather but you have to look at the overall picture and the national birdage will suffer in future because of todays decision.
Have to agree with most posts. Birds should never have been up. The word on the street is they knew they would not get up monday and could get birds into central belt in good time and the rest would be pot luck. Lots of reports of rain all over the country. The feds up country will have to reconsider the dewcision to go with the national. Have heard of several top fliers who have never seen a feather.
the forecast for Biggleswade is the same 70% chance of rain on Saturday morning. The Lanarkshire members will be glad to hear you dont care what the weather will be
Page 117 in last weeks BHW. His North boundary is M62 but your not far from there so worth a try. Its called Loft 2 Loft tel. 07714 403038 Barrie Thorpe
its your call...we`ve all been there...thats what makes the game so fascinating...i think i would send maybe 3 or 4 if weather looks ok but thats cos i like to go to every race. i would be wary of sending them to maidstone if your fed is going with snfc as the birds will get well split up. good luck
Why oh why is this still carrying on. From what I have seen of him, Mr Barlow has been an excellent SHU president and the union is in competent hands despite what the doom and gloom merchants say. I dont know the details of the WoS membership issue but I would doubt that his present circumstances would contravene shu rules or he would not have allowed it to occur. Having led the SHU through a difficult period in its history it would have been an injustice if he was not allowed to carry on as president in its centenary year. From what I have heard on the grapevine I doubt if he will stand again next year. What will you all find to moan about then. I could hazard a reasonable guess who the next president will be and if I am correct he will be an excellent choice.
