  1. if 6 clubs in a 5 mile radius best idea would be to just make 1 club ,but even that wouldn't work because each club would have a top flyer that wouldn't want to compete against other top flyers , so most clubs are selective on who they let join
  2. all birds on roundabout
  3. i try not to buy pigeons full stop , the best birds in my loft were all gift birds from eg. top local fanciers , friends and even fanciers that breed you a dozen or so birds just for reporting there strays. my father even had 8 pairs of busschaert stock birds given to him from a fancier to whom he had reported a dead stray ,so it goes to prove you dont have to fork out money for birds when there are still GENUINE FANCIERS out there
  4. i use easi bed for my litter , young birds only from weaning till end of racing ,scrape the perches daily and roundabout sections twice daily when exercising
  5. wheatgerm oil is very good but also try keeping them away from your other birds for a few days while they tread
  6. i use lime flour that i get from the local quarry
  7. sorry about the stuttering must have drunk too much vodka that night
  8. i always put lavender air fresheners in my lofts never had a fly a way and only ever lost 2 birds off the loft roof
  9. racing hens for water races is probably the best thing cos you can moyivate a hen better than a cock as in barry mc'nicholas way with hens
  10. yes where are you from m8
  11. sorry i did'nt know have'nt been a menber that long so sorry
  12. i used pea beans and tares and topped fed so you don't need special mixes its all about how you go about getting the best from your birds

speak for yourself i'm still a young un (nearly) but i only use id rings when racing . used them in 03/04 when i started but now i know what birds are what, mind i've only got 13 pairs to remember anyway
  22. cracking looking pigeons they would grace any loft
  23. i voted other the basket is the only way to know if you've got the birds for the job a pedigree is only worth the paper it's wrote on
  24. it probobly is no benefit to the birds BUT it is a benefit to the fanciers you may say people will leave the sport but a lot already left due to work commitments with ets it allows them to work and also to enjoy racing pigeons again
  25. sorry if you leave you will be missed, has this got owt to do with comments about ets cos if it is just ignore it do wots best for you
