i had same problem with mine so i fed them just on barley then 2 weeks later they started coming down ,now all have laid so hens must have been overweight.[fed barley cos i read a post on here] good luck anyway hope they lay soon
they only have 1 ounce a day except thursday 1+1/2 ounces then friday 2 ounces ,when they get liberated it is probably 16+ hours since they last got fed ,when they return from a race they are just as hungry
if it is a normal race .ie. basketing on friday liberated saturday then day of basketing i feed normal racing mix maybe 2ounces in the morning about 9.30 then in the afternoon about 3 they get about 1/2 ounce seed and maybe a few peanuts let them eat what they want for 10 mins then take their food pots away.
i just feed mine bean's,maple pea's+tare's /which is bjf's No1 mix but i think it buckton's call it high speed, they also get a bit of conditioning seed on trapping
i'd go for sputniks because most ets companies sell trapping inserts whereas it could be more difficult to convert the stalltrap for use with ets. as for training them to use it dont feed them the day b4 they go out then when they want to trap back in just throw some feed in through the sputnik bars if there hungry they should go in
