If I bring in pigeons from another loft & they state that the pigeons have been vaccinated. But I don't know what Vaccine have been used!!. If I vaccinate with a Vaccine that would be not the same. ie: I use Colombovac & say They have been done with BelgVac would it harm the birds??????? If we on the chat have a Vet at hand that would be great!!
-
I think we all do the same, we build our lofts to our liking & forget what our pigeons may like, I like to paint the outside of the loft the way it looks nice for me & the people that have to look at it around me, The inside is for my pigeons, left in the natural wood.

Lost my Granddad Royal Fusiliers, March 1916 in WW1. My Dad went though WW2 Royal Artillery fought with Montgomery in Egypt,Home safe but not the same My Mother said!. (LET THOSE WHO COME AFTER SEE TO IT THAT THEIR NAMES BE NOT FORGOTTEN) I am proud I did my bit for Queen & Country Royal Artillery Light A A, in the late 1950's British Army on the Rhine (The cold War).

One Pair, That fly out, I had to let them out as I have no room for stock, I have a lot of their blood on my loft now. It not like before I retired from work, and moved to a small bungalow, I had 16 pair of stock birds, bred 80 to 100 young birds per season! Now after a gap of 7 years from pigeons I started again in a small way, with a small 12ft x 8ft old bird loft, & 6ft x 4ft young bird loft. Gift young birds from friends to start me off, Life is much easy now with out the work load of cleaning out the pigeons, flying 12 cocks 12 hens, breeding 20 young birds, & a doz nest boxes. At 74 it just the job. I'm a member of the BICC & NFC. I wish all PC members all the best in the coming race season. "Watch this space" LOL!!

It don't make sense to me that some one would pay good money for a pigeon to loose it, & don't want it back, Pigeons sold by this man are not sold for peanuts!!!. "Lucky Me"

NEHU 10 EC 922. This pigeon as been on every pigeon site on the net work!! The BHW, & RP The new owner never transferred it, when they bought it at Blackpool in 2010, The man that sold the pigeon said he has no idea how bought the bird!. & said that may keep it until the new owner is found. to witch I agreed, & still have it. It was badly hawked when found buy a non flyer, but now has it's freedom with my phone number on, should it return to the owner & may be he or she would get in contact, if it returns to them! It did have a ETS ring on when found!! I would like to find the owner as it is taking room up in my small loft, I have no room for stock birds, & he is to good to put down!

Sent 6 YB's in the NFC Fougeres 181 mile to me. Need a N.W wind, to do any good!! But you never know!. Some of our members paid the money but dropped out as they see it was a East wind.
-
If the pigeon is loosing it's last 3 flights, It tends to loose speed in the air, I will send them no matter what flight they drop, as I do beleave they need to fly the channel as a baby. They may not win but will home! only if the new feather has broken thought, if not I will not send it.

I have had to get some late breds in this season so i could have pigeons to fly next season As on our first youngbird race the birds had a very bad start, our fed liberater released our pigeons not checking the weather at our end on the fed We still had rain & fog when they liberated. Flying into Aberdeen airport to see my Brother-in-Law his 60th birthday he lives in ABERCHIRDER, We are staying in a Hotel in Banff for 4 days, is there any thing of interest in the area pigeon wise??? I would'nt mind a loft visit on one of the days!
-
Our Federation will have to be on his toes, as we fly from WEST to EAST along the Coast. we don't want to clash with your birds going North. It would help if our liberater Phone to see what time the you are cutting the strings . It would only mean one phone call, then he would know that you south road going north have gone
-
There are more pigeons being reported by the public, then our own members, Our sport seem to be going one step forword & two steps back!!. Come on folks a phone call don't cost as much as a pint of beer. I have lost over 25 pigeons so far this season, & NOT had one reported

Lost 3 in training over the weeks, & 17 in one race, the very first yb race of the season, It leaves me 6 Young bird to race this season left. only raced 12 young birds last year, left with 6 yourlings. I have had to sent away for some rings a freind is going to bred me 6 late breds i can train in the closed season. so i will have some thing to fly next season. Only retuned back to racing last year What has this sport become, just a feeding ground for the BOP. the federation fly West to East along the South Coast each week. I will give it one more year, see how it go's then i may call it a day. i have had good people gifted me good pigeons I Had the Dropping tested back with "OK" Never trained my pigeon so much in my life. Up to 35 mile they could beat me home each time. I keep looking in the mirror, & saying to myself what are you doing wrong. !!!! "I'm Gutted"
