One of the latter is I believe the family of Paul Woolliss of Grimsby in England. This family contains some of the best long and marathon type racing pigeons in Europe today. An example of their stature is 1st Section National Flying Club Pau at 703 miles, 1st Section, 7th Open British Barcelona Club from Palamos at 815 miles and of course the exploits of the great 'Lona' with eight national positions and three times Spain to her credit. The base of the strain has its roots in Holland, that is, the bloodlines of the van Wanroy's of Jo Hendricks of Twello. Apparently purchased in 1984 when the Twello lofts were at their best they were crossed with Paul's Stichelbauts and in due course became the Woolliss strain. Again we see in this series the input of the Stichelbauts into the evolution of an ultra distance family. The founder believes that it is quality that counts especially for this type of endurance racing and emphasizes very strongly that the key for success is the necessary requirement of 'condition'. And it is generating the proper condition that occupies the astute intellect of Paul Woolliss within the context of his yearly racing objectives. An intellect that is pro quality and ensures that about two dozen youngsters along with a few late breds are bred each year and that the present widespread mass breeding addiction in the fancy is held at bay. This of course coupled with apparent patience has saw the growth of a family which is amongst the leading strains in Britain at present. Of course as a small team fancier Woolliss has ensured that his stock loft contains the best of breeders. A basic and essential necessity! The Woolliss lofts are not a one bird loft although it would be difficult to refer to the strain without referring to the noble exploits of the magnificent blue hen known as 'Lona'. What a pigeon! NEHU95HAR7400 (Van Wanroy X Stichelbaut) 1st Section E 46th Open Palamos 815 Miles British Barcelona Club. Furthest flying bird in race time. 2nd Section 68th Open Palamos 815 Miles B. B.C. Again winning furthest flying pigeon in race time. 55th Open Barcelona 3rd Section E (Verified 842 miles). 39th Open Nantes 4th Section E 438 miles; 133rd Open Bordeaux 3rd Section E 596 miles BBC; 604th Open Pau 33rd Section K 703 miles National Flying Club; 195th Open Le FerteBernard 370 miles Midlands NFC; 9th Section Bordeaux 283rd Open 596 miles BBC. Seven times over 596 miles. 15 English Channel crossings. Lona has flown approximately 7,987 national miles. To conclude, Paul Woolliss has formed his modern strain of marathon racing pigeons inspite of the fact that he suffers from pigeon lung disease. Of tremendous help and support through the years of this condition and during the development of his strain was his wife, Wendy, and in this brief insight I include her too in my tribute to a modern English strain. This truth concurs with the saying which I often heard in my childhood and youth 'Behind every good man there is a good woman'. I will try and get pictures uploaded tonight, although i am selling on behalf of someone i am not knocking a man whilst down so he will receive what the birds fetch minus a percentage to the site in which they are sold on. any questions etc striclty via PM ONLY !

I have looked for the Feedback on couriers but give up - hope if it can be found someone may make it sticky!! Anyways - Pigeon Tracker collected some birds for me at 9.15am yesterday morning from Wales, the birds were delivered yesterday afternoon around 5pm in good condition. Well looked after and got a phone call in good time to tell me and also when 30 minutes away. Fantastic service yet again - Not sure if it was Jamies Daughter who delivered but very polite and pleasant and an overall fantastic service yet again. Well done Pigeon Tracker

I initially designed my website on freewebs, i was quite happy with it but being married to a web designer meant she wanted to play about with it and as things go it is generally improving although offline at the minute whilst i get all the pigeons photographed. I dont like to see templates on a paid website, several web designers use them and still manange to charge £200 plus for something they can prob knock up in less than a day. Boom - I would go with freewebs i cant fault them one bit -
That was also the closest rule i can find to the one i think Mark is reffering too but as i said to yellow it is in my opinion not set enough in stone. My birds walk through an initial entrance at which point they clock they then go through bob wires through to the loft.

Yes seems so on Friday afternoon i bought a daughter of 1st section NRCC Lerwick (500 Miles) who is also mother of 1st Open NRCC Perth (4622b) and plenty of other winners for £20-00 Its a cracking hen from a proven background however instead of Koopman etc on pedigree it has braspenning, buscharrt, silvere toye & VDB so seems to have a lower value - i bought two from the nest the same way bred earlier for £50 - The NRCC may not be the NFC but winners are still winners so i am happy that no one else seems to want them as it means i dont have to pay crazy prices

Any bird is only worth as much as the buyer thinks it is

Phil thats all well and good but how do you define performance enhancing every single product in my store shed is meant to enhance them and make them fly like rockets up there backside - plus how would an ordinary fancier such as us know how to be sure of the contents of such products.
-
They had them in brighton last week mate and theres me feeding the disguisting pier donoughts to the three birds and 40 seagulls next to it lol
-
i aint ever seen the list Phil - Its only from talking to him i know about any of the banned substances and reading on the internet etc etc. I think maybe back to plain water, garlic, cider vinegar etc etc just to be safe
-
The thing with testing them is the lack of clarity involved. I will stand corrected if im wrong but how many members are actually aware of what is considered an illegal drug for the birds i mean some are obvious but some are not and with all the products that come from the continent how the hell do we know they are all considered legal to use - I dont,i think they are but i cant be certain on it. I know to issue a list of all banned substances gives incentive to the minority to obtain and use such substances but how otherwise can we be sure we are not all 'Drugging our birds' most days of the week. A friend of mine was tested by the NRCC a couple of years back, all tests came back negative however not one to be quiet at the best of times he managed to find out some of the products on the list and was shocked by there use in our every day life and 'yes' there was one product on there according to him that i had tried once in the past but with not knowing what could i have done.
