The substitute has served its purpose for us especially with our fence which has had nothing on for 15 years it now looks as good as new - we built a flight today and also used it on that and it looks good. I do agree about the proper stuff but the substitute at £6.99 a tub from Wilkos aint done a bad job. On another note thanks for all the replies has anyone got any negative issues with the grills being cresoted i dont want to do them and encounter problems from it.

For our third round we placed a blob of cresote on a beer mat under the nest bowl - think he's right

I have the grills out now for the next week or so whilst im changing things around hence thinking about doing it as they would have maybe 10 - 14 days to dry out properly.

Has anyone cresoted inside there lofts at all. Its actually cresote substitute but am considering staining all my wooden floor grills but wondered if anyone else had done similar before?
