  1. Hankies oot ;D ;D ;D
  2. Excellent point
  3. There were some great fliers in the old Kirkintilloh club it was sad their demise
  4. Great man for genetics - Leslie showed Jack Adams how to fly a white bird and he timed it out of Pau and in the result
  5. Sorry STB what you say is all hypothetical it's like saying if a goal hadn't been scored it would have been a draw or if the horse hadn't fallen at the last fence it would have won. Just look at the 100 mtrs there was Mcdonald Bailey,Carl lewis,Ben Johnston & Linford Christie all champions but would never have lived with todays champions
  6. Aye but they trained and raced South on the West coast but I suppose that was before the explosion of the raptor The 'Gow,Abington & Beattock were the training tosses every Wednesday that was when Del Boy flew in the Glasgow Fed East section don't remember them flying from Cockenzie will ask John D when I see him
  7. I think it was Graham Mitchell that posted that information could be wrong but then again could be right
  8. STB I have the tickets to prove it but we trained and raced South and just last night at the club there were a pile of tickets belonging to the late John Mcguigan fed toppers most trained and raced South
  9. Years ago Glasgow Fed trained South now they train East plus one fancier passed the mark that all the power cables in East Lothian go into Cockenzie power station and St Boswells is the Bermuda Triangle of pigeon racing never been to either so couldn't possibly comment. These are comments from others
  10. I don't have any problem with the old bird program as it stands but don't see the point flying from Cockenzie rather see them go down the same route as the o/b program and see if it makes any difference to the result or general performance of the birds. Where did all Lanarkshire's birds go and it it not true one of the Ayrshire Feds could not complete the program because of lack of birds. To be honest there are raptors all over the country and no area is exclusively free and without being derogatory to anyone change is opposed by those that have most to lose JMO
  11. Aye Stuart over the Forth heading for Fife yes you may well be further West but you have a "flat" run in to Port Glasgow we still have to negotiate the Kilpatrick hills and up the Leven Valley. Coming up the Campsies they would have to have a rocket up their ar*se to get a Fed position
  12. Maybe we should go down the old M6 route I don't ever remember our birds heading for the Forth when I raced before with the Glasgow Fed even managed to Top it now can't even get on it :'(. Plus the further East we go in a strong West wind the chances are we should be teaching the birds to swim as they don't seem to be still on land :-/
  13. I would personally bin the three Cockenzies as I don't see what purpose they serve other than to train your birds to go to Edinburgh for their holidays numerous fanciers on here has told me that our birds old included all fly towards the Forth Coast then the Campsie Hills down to Glasgow and beyond. Who does that favour? certainly not me. I have no problem flying East but on a much truer line of flight
  14. You can only vote if you are in it ;) ;D ;D
  15. Benzing have a special offer up until the the Blackpool show think it is under £200 One of our members bought one and got a free system for the club
  16. Make sure all you South Coast fanciers batten down the hatches and make sure the lofts are secure due to the forecast of winds of 75mph and heavy rain
  17. Who is or was this "Terry Hately" you are on about - There is no substitute for class no matter what age you are and Paul had it and remember Butcher,Woods,Steven & Stevens all came to Scotland as English teams had been kicked out of Europe under any other circumstances they would be called mercenaries
  18. Bit behind the times Chickadee posted it a few months ago
  19. Lot 3 £20.00
  20. Suspended indefinitely
  21. We clean our own baskets every week usually on the day before the race and store our own
  22. I think big Bigda knows the answers "you heard it here first" ;D ;D ;D
