Top class hen and a lovely type that should leave her mark in the future as a breeder .was lucky enough to have her mother here for a year in the stock loft and she was a top class hen to ,well done to you Davie on racing one of the best distance hens in the country
lol called the two of them after my mum and dad sadly my mum is no longer with us ,but old jack will be well chuffed when i take the two photos down for him the morra
We are going down on the train for the second time as we went down last year on it wouldn't travel down to this weekend any different now ,stress free and a wee drink on the way down and we are staying in the imperial.really looking forward to it
i keep most of the yearling team dry just letting them sit the eggs till they rise off them then they are split to race on the round about system and they perform well this way .so dont think it matters for racing .if i had more room for a bigger young bird team i would breed of some of the yearlings that i think were the better ones as a lot of top doos have been bred of yearlings in there first ever nest
i think that was what i was trying to say last night but being a wee bit drunk didnt put it across as well as i should the spelling fkd it up lol. del when i put doos into a show they are always minted prob the same as you would do yourself and thats the way they should be .but if they were not in that condition i cant complain when the dipped doos beat me. didnt like getting beat by dipped doos myself when i was taking doos to the big shows but it happened plenty of times
i judged at the show the day and i judged class 2 which was old hens raced there were lucky if there were 4 out of the full class of racers in the class that i judged that were full racers so you are up against it to start with trying to get a winner especially if the racers are not up to the standard that you are looking for but on a more positive note im delighted i put the doo up that won best in show from a show doo class so well done to the Bells that won bis :emoticon-0137-clapping:
