we have had 9 from 11 from messac,, birds doing 1105 and we won the west section,, some didn't clock.. very tough race that sorted the birds out... how were your returns from the solent fed.. and when did they liberate.. goodluck ant -
when we go over the channel we go as a combine,, it saves a fortune and the transporter is full.. this is the way forward I think... we have 4 or 5 feds and then use only 1 or 2 lorries to transport the birds.. goodluck for all ant

chichichi replied to chichichi's topic in Stray Centre
phil always improving the blood line,, but we'll see,, a few years ago we had some serious bargains,, now they are mega bucks..lol.. 1 year the oldman went to luc van hoeckes,, he was friendly with dai fatstock,, so the oldman had 2 for 40 euros,, you go there now and you will pay £200 a bird..lol... also cyriel denduiver you try to go there and buy breeders,, no chance,, we bought a pair for 100 euros,, they have bred 2 x 1st fed and 2 x 2nd fed,, you must remember there are also rubbish there,, the thing is to find the diamond in the rough.. lol goodluck all ant -

have 2 birds reported this week,, one in belgium and 1 found dead in holland,, the belgium one was lost at lessay in france and has topped the fed this year..lol.. and the dead one in holland was at ramsgate with a north east wind,, hopefully we will get the belgium one back... any belgiums on here that want to help..lol.. goodluck for the weekend ant

stu top flying mate,, we will have the same problem in 2 weeks time,, we have 2 channel races this week and will have to stop 4 for the short one the week after.. at least you could pick your pool bird with ease this week.. top notch ant
-
The reason I ask is we are always looking to bring new strains in but we firstly look at the results of sibblings of the birds for sale,, we are more interested in results than pedigrees.. very good maybe some thornes for us in the future,, we'll see ant

what have you done with these birds,,, ant

There are many places to buy janseens but what I would do if I was you would be to buy a few different janseens from different sources and test them out,, find out what flys best into your area and terrain.. also lots of studs and fanciers won't sell their best lines so get the best you can .. we have 2 sources of janseen here now 1 tried and one being tested,, the tried ones are from frank dixon from liverpool,, they have flown very well and have bred 6 x 1st club in 2 years and 3rd,10th,13th national aswell.. the new blood is from a local fancier near us called alan maull, he has bred janseens from different sources since the early 80's.. they are winning all over the country.. and have won the bicc 2 times and many nationals and combines.. we are paying £100 a bird normally for the top lines,, and we know them,,lol shop around and try some form here and there,, but always ask for their best.. now is a good time to buy as people want to get the late bred off their hands.... birds bred now will still be old enough to breed in jan,, the very best of luck to you.. good hunting ant

maris birds from petron lofts

stuart we are not racing them in belgium,,lol.. we hear people saying this has won against 20,00 birds in holland and 10,000 in belgium,, the birds you have are not flying in holland or belgium,, ask what have they done in britain,,, m lennon has topped the fed many times and also won a car in the nationals.. he has a stock loft with maris cocks that have topped the fed 7 times or more.. some with 10 x 1st fed.. who else has that kind of stock loft.. lots have sons of top birds but to have a 10 x 1st fed winner in the stock loft is much better than his son or g/son... petron will charge you £200 a young bird,, m lennon will charge you £40 if he knows you ,, otherwise you won't get them.. lets not all buy these belgium birds that are many generations away from the ace bird,, but them from british champions... we have a few belgium birds here but from the small lofts where money hasn't taken hold.. we have been to some where they charge 40 euros a young bird,, go back the year after and they are 100 euros a birds.. -

don't know but expect the janseen to be in there some where,, we have tried many different crosses but find the janseens we have the best.. we find the lines we have are very inbred and they need a crossing.. but very good birds.. all the parents of ours have topped the fed 7 times or more.. ant -
