You may or not be aware that AMTRAK have gone into liquidation, this will result in a delay in the collection and delivery of racing pigeons throughout the UK. We are a courier company based in North Wales, we cover the whole of the UK mainland, daily and North and Southern Ireland and mainland Europe regularly. We have been operating for a number of years and although we were once an Amtrak hub for a while, our standards are High! We are not connected with any other company in North Wales with a similar name. Having moved pigeons in the past we are experienced and competent in this field. We can supply transport boxes if needed and can collect Monday to Thursday and deliver Monday to Friday. Collections and deliveries outside these times can be arranged. Post code areas PA; KW; IV; HS can be arranged on an individual basis. Pigeons are not placed in Trucks, nor placed on conveyer belts. They are always handled with care and are all treated as you would expect them to be treated. We have pigeon racing enthusiasts on our Staff and can deal with longer term housing or other problems. Our drivers will contact the collection or delivery address 30 minutes prior to arriving so that the bird does not need to be kept in a transit box for too long. When you phone J Cooper Logistics you will speak to people that will know where your bird is, and can track the vehicle that it is in. You will not be put in touch with a customer care centre with no idea of what is going on. Our company slogan is "Making your delivery our priority" We pride ourselves on the level of service that we provide from start to finish. Prices: Up to 4 pigeons £35.00. £2.50 for each bird over 4. Discounts can be arranged for clubs; breeders and regular customers. In addition to pigeons we can also collect and deliver anything that will fit into a transit size van. So if you are considering buying something from internet auction sites or from somewhere distant, please contact us to discuss your requirements. Our details can be found on our web site: www.jcooperlogistics.co.uk Tel: 01352 73 55 55 Fax: 01352 73 55 12 Mob: 077 09 123 125 Thank you for your time, Jack Cooper I have copied this from another site,, hope this helps,, we had 2 go today ,, a bloke phoned them and they picked up when they said they would.. so far excellent.. ant

phil we got 45 to send,, all darkness and bouncing,, but will only send about 15 to 20.. lets hope they have a chance to get home .. these birds will be kept for lillers or eastbourne on the south then.. the rest will get ramsgate and swindon.. fingers crossed for a bit of freak wind to get rid of the weather as early as possible on sunday,, ant
-
strapper we all got a race after lillers,, we have swindon,, but you must have 2 after lillers.. bit late I think for the young birds.. there should have been comeback in between every national.. that way any injured birds could have gone and also latebred will have had races earlier in the season.. I will predict that the winner will be in bargoed,, wind south at race point and only south west when into wales.. north wales need south west all the way to have a great advantage,, I expect a lib on sunday.. but some empty perches due to thunder ant
-
lol,, 1 comeback ,, we have 20 later bred ones here and they are now having 1 race instead of 3,, south looking a better option for next year.. we'll see.. goodluck to the members sending tomorrow.. fingers crossed we get a race on sunday,, and its a good one,, gambling with young ones isn't on.. lovely weather tomorrow.. goodluck ant

we use oils here quite regularly,, we use 9 oils for the racing,, this is a blend of 9 oils that help the birds health,, we also use garlic oil throughout the winter every sunday on the corn,, two teaspoons per kilo of food.. we have used flax oil but find it a little strong,, would rather give linseed in mix when moulting,, goodluck.. normally 2 teaspoons on 1 kg of corn for us.. goodluck ant

1)pathfinder lofts are there birds any good - phone them up and have a chat,, look at their results and how much they charge,, they have a lot of trophies in their adverts,, but ask them when did they win them.. 2)roland jannsens were is the best place to buy prices ect - masserella have the best no doubt about it,, but they are not cheap.. alex and john mellor have good ones aswell.. 3)frank sheader soontjens any info onthese prices ect - lots of sootjens about ,, daykin has top ones,, I think fenech has them also,, goodluck in your search.. but always phone the people up and have a chat,, always ask for their best and don't pay more than you can afford,, goodluck ant

phil I think ours will go between 11 and 1pm.. rain clearing all the time near there.. the 1 lofts have gone from frome this morning.. goodluck ant
-
we had the same last week,, but our 1st bird sat on loft for 4 mins,, but 2nd bird trapped in seconds,, there was a falcon around us about 10 mins before the birds came so put it down to this,, we don't know half the things the birds have to overcome to get home,, a chase from a falcon or a near miss on wires will frighten them and this makes them very nervous when trapping.. goodluck ant

I agree was rushed in,, also why so many updates,, I have a system and have done 1 update at the start of the season,, it run all year no probs,, have heard others have needed many updates,, surely the updates are only for additions ,, not running probs,, maybe the rpra should take all the companies to task and insure no updates are required during the season,, we have used ETS all season and find it very beneficial for the young birds and the fancier.. wouldn't want to use a t3 all the time now.. goodluck ant

had heard the problem is down to an update that is needed.. make sure you have the most recent version... goodluck sorting it,, ant

MITES AND LICE BEST PRODUCTS TO TREAT WITH
chichichi replied to the wee red hens's topic in Ideas & Theories
give the birds a bath with malt vinegar in once a week or fortnight,, they will be lice free then.. add a couple of gluggs from the bottle per bath.. it will foam up when adding water but don't worry.. If you want to try medication get moxidectin,, this will sort out the mites and internal parasites,, very good stuff but not cheap.. £25 per bottle.. goodluck ,, but for a beginner use vinegar,, we do..lol.. ant -
we have had some horror stories with amtrak,, but we sent 4 to scotland on tuesday ,, they were picked up at 3pm,, they were delivered at 7am,, next day.. very good service,, but 2 months ago 3 went to scotland and didn't get there...they got to blackpool.. I think they are improving but have a long way to go.. ant

we race in the south west wales and expected them to do the same,, bit late now to change,, goodluck for friday,, looks the best day.. south west wind,, ant
-
we send in 2 clubs,, they are put on the transporter on different sides,, and most weeks from the races upto 150 miles they come together.. A few years ago we were winning the section in our fed by a long way,, a club futher down the valley asked the driver if they could put their birds where our club put them,, so we changed for 1 week,, same results though.. lol.. It don't make a difference where your birds are,, the most important thing is the break,, Its how quick your bird breaks from the race point,, sometimes there are batches still going around 10 mins after liberation,, these are the last home normally,, goodluck ant

selling birds on this site
chichichi replied to just ask me's topic in Website News, Views & Computer Related Info
maybe everyone who has sold birds thruogh the site should donate to the sites sale for funds,, I have done this and feel its a good way to give something back to the site,, lets get one going again to raise funds,, but everyone who uses the sale section should automatically donate a pair.. this way the site will get more than just a small donation.. also it helps the members try other birds from all over the country.. also when you donate a bird it should be a good un.. well there is 2 from me whenever they have a sale.. maybe more.. depending when the sale is.. ant -
