  1. the above bird dropped in with me this afternoon, he has half his tail missing through a hawk attack, apart from that he seems in good nick, i can be contacted on 01792 894207.
  2. you don't, and there's the problem.
  3. it's not sales of birds that's caused all the illness going about, sales have always gone on. more than likely over use of drugs, resulting in lack of immunity and breeding from birds like that.
  4. why bother waiting until dark then, just get them out in the sun.
  5. gutted for you pete, i had a sputnik blow off before so it could be the wind, but don't know how it could have killed a couple of birds unless they were in it. i've a few late breds here if you need any to breed off(brother's and sister's to winner's upto fed level). sorry again
  6. hi pete, first of all i'd like to wish you good luck, cause you'll need that. 700 mls is a big diffrence to 400, he may do it, he may not not, there's only one way to find out. myself i think he may struggle unless there's a helping wind. i'd go for out and out distance breeding for these types of races. but were you live is not far off the drag so he'll have company all the way probaly. i would breed off him before the season but only one youngster, and fly him on w/hood or roundabout. if your going to give tosses give him single up tosses. feed him on the floor with other birds so he's more calmer. i don't start my birds for the longer races until about 4/5 races in, jumpped into 200/250 mls then again the week after if all is well at around 300/350 the longer races are only a couple of weeks away now so just training until the big race.
  7. my mates a marking stsation sec and he told me that davies+coombes are winning nat, he also said about good bird in north wales.
  8. did'nt robert ben sell super ben to some chinese guy for 150 grand
  9. you people who say the birds should have no food in their crop on friday basketing are crazy, i feed my birds the same time every day and they're hungry when the food is due, so if they're fed friday morning, saturday morning they'll be hungry. if you don't lib until dinner time and they have a tough race a lot may go down(no fuel in the tank) or if some go missing because of clashing/hawks they won't have the energy to return(and you wonder why so many never work back) . also i think keeping them hungry like that, is more likely to bring on sickness.
  10. so they're available again now are they?
  11. you got topic right paul(bit of everything), i thought it was going to be long day today for england, after yesterday but old onions had their eye's watering.to much rain about i think to get a result though.
