  1. The only south Road Club Penywaun had had its headquarters in the Colliers Arms back in the 90's. Both clubs there now both fly Southeast route but i think the WNR one goes by the name Penawaun SRFC. You can find the results on Welsh National Flying Club,s result page.
  2. Well done Jimmy & the rest of you.

    Paul (Strapper)

So sorry to hear this Paul may she RIP.
  8. Thats the trouble with this kind of weather its been drizzling most of the day here in Rhigos,it then changed to heavy showers in between bits of sun shine, But since 3. 45 its been lovely and sunny but very strong wind.
  9. No where in my post did i say that the birds welfare should not come first, thats why i said if the weather is forecast to be so bad why not just cancel the race, as by the looks of it they could end up there until Tuesday anyhow.
  10. Just read they are doing 1530 ypm into Portsmouth, and one guy said he had 7 from 10.
  11. Its already a sticky one for some just spoke to a friend who cant send anyway as he has to go to work on Monday. So perhaps if they cant race on weekends they would be better of cancelling the races all together and just let the program run on a little longer. As with all the swapping and changing that seems to go on these days this could see fanciers leaving the sport, as at the end of the day thats why they keep them to see them race home win or lose!!! The two i have spoke to who wont be sending are well Pi~~ Off. And the worst thing is they will still have to pay i wonder if they would swap & change so much if they went back to birdage?
  12. Jimmy is one of most genuine people i have ever met, with a loft full of real quality pigeon,s anyone having pigeons from him wont go wrong.
  13. Yes excellent result once again for Derick, he has had a fantastic year.
  14. I heard Reg Lelliot was in at 6.55 in Swansea about 539miles.
  15. Happy Birthday Paul
  16. Well nothing changed there so i see, if it don't effect them most people could not care less. Here is a pic for your article as you can see it was hit by a Falcon although supposedly protected by the Bali Bell this is a old photo which was taken in the late 80,s early 90's by the way.
  17. This is what i think a few years ago i had a lot of Red,s & Mealys and a good few Pieds, i also had a Black and when they were flying it stood out like a sore thumb in the batch, one day me and a friend was watching them flying and as they came over the forestry we heard a smack and pigeons were everywhere a falcon had dived into the batch. No prizes for guessing what pigeon he took, The Black. Another time i saw about 4 pigeons going through three of them were light coloured or pieds it was from a channel race flying west when all of a sudden a falcon came from no where and took the cheq. It might be a coinincidence but when i had to train i use to put all the same colours in the same baskets and let them go a basket at a time.
  18. Stuart is a real gent and has twice gone out of his way to help me out, And he also took the bird i gave to the Edinburgh Charity Show up to Scotland which saved them the carriage costs.!!!
  19. Cant remember when i seen starlings around here last.

    peregrines

Years ago i guess they may of had there territory's, but as long as there is plenty of food the territory soon reduces. Years ago there was one pair in the Graig -y Llyn know there is a pair there pair in the Graig -Y Fawr, and a pair in the rocks to to the left of the tower, plus 2 pair in the Quarry all within a 3 to 4 mile radius of our loft.
  21. No sun here and its bitter cold Rhigos.
  22. With regards pm bids i have bought a few birds and always just pm the people in charge with my bid i then get a reply saying my bid is in place. I bought lot 10 in Mick Bowlers sale nothing to hide and as soon as i was told i had won the bird cheque was put in the post. Its something to stop the none payers is what's wanted i would of thought.
  23. They are exactly the same regards to noise, its just that the Bells are fitted to the pigeon and the wind makes them shriek. As you can see did not deter the Falcon and as i said the Sparrow Hawk knows when the bell stops that the birds have landed and they use to hit them within seconds. Try them if you like but i would,nt hold my breath.
  24. Waste of time the pigeon in this photo was one of 2 birds in a team of 40 with the Bali Bells fitted returning from a training toss, we heard them coming before we seen them next thing the pigeon's were everywhere the tree's in the forest around us was full of them. This hen actually broke a bar in the top of the sputnick trap diving to get away from the falcon that had hit her. AS regards the other 2 culprits the Gos Hawk & Sparrow Hawk i found that when exercising around loft as soon as the birds landed they used to dive out of the forest within seconds of birds landing. (dont know about Balli Bells my wife used to call it the dinner bell. Worse thing is i spent £70 on them that was about 20yrs ago,
  25. Mick posted my cheque this morning.
