Once again DEFRA/SEX etc give out conflicting info ...depends where you source it ..i too thought the end of April then I worked 30 Days onto 5/6 ?????????????????
-
Well said assassin
-
Rose/Jazza From Midnight on the 6th as far as we know ......assuming no more incidents
-
Mike/Rose realistically are you hopeful ...if not France what about Belgium with approval from France to fly over
-
I agree re Jimmy and his quote from Bruno but the reality is a bit different and I have been sickened by the attitudes in Fife from a small minority. This was not working together nor looking out for each other. It was man mind thyself and to hell with the consequences for the rest .... I am gutted ..hopefully i will get over it
-
A bit slow on the Fife situation
-
Report ALL WHO ARE DOING OR IT WILL KNACKER RACING FOR ALL OF US. IF YOU DONT WANT TO OR ARE SCARED PM ME AND I WILL
-
Yes Mr. Aitken Tel Fife Council and name them 01592 414141 and ask environmental services to enforce. IN FACT LETS REPORT ALL INCLUDING WALKERS COS THEY ARE SERIOUSLY RISKING OUR RACING. GET THEM STOPPED.
-
The Ban is still in place the only slack we got was to let them out for exercise...still no gatherings meetings training etc ..... Same reason as your YB sale at Pinkertons is cancelled
-
Its not always 'bout knowing, if the Scot Exec say Birds to be kept in well thats it ...doesnt matter what Union ur in. It may be stupid but it was a Government directive and there was no choice. Now that we have a bit of slack we should prove to the authorities that we r handling this sensibly and can be trusted. Like we know Pigeons are low risk an that its not in the food chain etc etc so i guess we have to grin n bear it and be nice grrrrr

PRESS INTERVUE WITH PIGEON FANCIER RE BIRD FLU
dandydoo replied to THE FIFER's topic in Notice Board
Hmph see the Falconery centre had MSP Ted Brocklebank there oputting his caSE FORWARD FOR NON CONTAINMENT OF hAWKS ...FIFE EDITION cOURIER -
Correct I dont want to be stopped racing by some tubes that couldnt/wouldnt stick by rules in the Fed, formed their own and now wont abide by the rules of Government. I feel really strongly that these people are not taking this seriously, being a law unto themselves and putting us ALL at risk. I suppose those in the 3Km and 10Km Zones are letting theres out too
-
Cheers Valiant ...there is you answer Fife King

The RPRA and the Kingdom MUST abide by the rules of the Land issued by the Scottish Exec and DEFRA. So it doesnt matter what the Kingdom or RPRA say about flying in Fife ....they must be contained. If they are not or the RPRA HQ Cumbria region or Kingdom Fed dont understand this then I, for one will be E-mailing and or telephonong to make sure they are very clear. If this ia another wind up Master A, it is not funny. Some members are dual members and wiill have been issued with a letter from the SHU so they will be aware
-
Take it the rpra and shu are telling their members
-
What Fifers had a race, if fanciers dont do what the LAW of the LAND says then we will all cop it. Notice that FIFER says some are still not accepting that they must keep them in. They are puting whats left a short season at risk

In the following “other captive birds” refers to - a bird kept in captivity which is not poultry and includes a bird kept for shows, races, exhibitions, competitions, breeding or sale; i.e. this includes racing and fancy pigeons. Bird Movement No person may move poultry or other captive birds from premises in a Wild Bird Protection Zone except under the authority of a licence granted by a veterinary inspector or an inspector acting at the direction of a veterinary inspector. No person may move poultry or other captive birds in to or out of a wild bird protection zone.Except where: the movement is through the zone on a major highway or railway if no stop is made within the zone. Gathering of Birds No person may permit any poultry or other captive birds to be collected together in a wild bird protection zone at any fair, market, show or other gathering. Biosecurity Measures This Schedule applies in respect of premises where poultry or other captive birds are kept: poultry and other captive birds must be housed where possible, and if this is impractical, isolated in such a way as to minimise contact with wild birds The occupier must provide and maintain means of disinfection at the entrances and exits of the premises and any buildings on the premises housing poultry or other captive birds. A person entering or leaving premises: must cleanse their hands must not wear clothing which is visibly soiled with mud, droppings, animal or bird faeces, or any similar matter; and must cleanse and disinfect the outer surfaces of his footwear in accordance with the directions of an inspector. Time Scale for Restrictions An area shall remain a wild bird protection zone until: the Scottish Ministers amend the declaration ~ so that the area within its boundaries becomes part of the wild bird surveillance zone; or the Scottish Ministers revoke the declaration. For me, this means no racing, cant mark birds as this is a gathering No YB sales in all of Fife to Edinburgh and Dundee as per the wild Bird Zone. Dont know how that would place birds going over Fife on direct flight path like the North Road. How are the Two diffrent Feds in Fife dealing with this

Chris you are walking away from inevitable progress i said there are many things that are considered unfair in the Pigeon world ...stall traps, transporter releases, the more wealthy have the ability to pay big money for what they consider are the best bloodlines bounderies loft position, syndicate training ... running to the post office in days of old. How many manual Pigeon clocks manufacturers have ceased production and it is getting more difficult to find someone locally to fix and service ..what about people with restricted mobility and who have specific disability. You have your reasons something about not wanting to have to change your system ...so dont buy it/ use it .Its not very often a greater distance or extreme distance race comes down to decimals ...whatever system you are using, as you well know the Bird has to be there. Yes i have shaken eh Chris , yes Mike er Chris er Mike er Chris thanks for your support is this PIPA nooooo Pigeonbasics. You are entitled to your opinion and CHOICE and I would support your right to choose but give the same rights to others who may want the system
-
There are a lot of things unfair in the Pigeon world that is .. stall traps ...that gives people at least a 20 second advantage over catching and timing maybe more. There was never a big hoo ha over stall traps ..it is a choice thing The fly out from a transporter as per Hyacinth's post. Ok Chris you are a walker and we get the guist about your feelings on the SHU ....Do you comply with all the RPRA rulings? At least with the SHU you can attend the AGM and vote rather than a regional rep Anyway you have your feelings on the matter and YOU had a CHOICE to stay or leave SHU/SNFC ... let other folk have the same discretion with ETS
-
Mike dont think you answered my question.. what you have given is an outline structure of the system of governance of the RPRA and the way members voted. I specifically aked why YOU did want to see it s introduction. Perhaps I should read into your reply that you are accepting the majority decision ???. I agree there is no fundemental right or wrong ...but as I outlined in previous post it should be a matter of choice and fairness I think you are having a bit of a larf about being fairer .... So you could have 4 Clubs with 10 memebers each with a No vote thus 4 No votes as opposed to a Club with 50 members with 1 Yes vote ....hardly fair and democratic ( perhaps you just want a good old rip on the Board) This kicks the 45,000 argument into touch too. In Scotland it would seem to be a bit more member led in that the Clubs do have more autonomy. You and your Clubs problem ...I am less inclined on the "I am alright Jack philosophy" and take a bigger picture view as to what is the best way forward for the sport in these very difficult times ...around 7% of Fanciers leaving the sport annually. You come across as passionate about the issue from you posts so why is it that YOU are personally against it. RPRA rules and regulations ...I wonder how many of the Scottish members of the RPRA follow the rules such as three way testing of clocks, accredited convoyer and how many members leave their clock on the premises for the season. My point rules, procedures can always be ignored or gotton round DD
-
Correct Fifer ..they should be engaging a PR company now before its too late
-
Forgot to say ....a Joint campaign may be difficult given Scotland has devolved responsibility for Environment and rural affairs so any agreement with DEFRA is not valid and binding in Scotland
-
I just dont think any of the Unions are battling hard enough ...this is the one single issue that may sound the death knell for Pigeon racing ....there are enough problems with Hawks, people who are animal lib orientated ..legislation regarding convoying and crates etc ..but AI is the single biggest threat yet. Don't know if these people have the skills, energy and experience in PR, Organising a campaign and being proactive. They have never come close in the raptor campaign. Worrying Hyacinth I have some sympathy with Jazza re Royals ..but can see where you are coming from having a head of state like Bush ... makes the Royals look really good lol DD

OK speak later
