Birds arrived at last first birds after 25yrs loft all ready to go,made my own nest boxes with help off people on site with their tips.So all systems are go now.Breed that i decided to have was Van Loons birds seeem to have big hearts and never say attitude.So got myself 3 pairs to start breeding my own young bird team to start off with.I know its not very many to build a team but hopefully people will give me a hand with maybe some more Van Loons.cheers thanks for reading

The only way we can get the sport attention Is to get youngsters involved,taking them to schools / society to educate kids about them show them in room then let them out in yard to fly home.Surely this must be the way forward but we need to get some publicity and quick

Hi going to build my own nest boxes got 8 x 4 sheet.is their a set formula to build boxes?will welcome any feedback.considering 32inches by 16inch wide I think it will make 2 boxes per sheet so any other formula will be great

Does this mean the whole length of loft back?or a couple of vents in back suficient,does this need to be a louvre or say aviary wire?not to let in rodents.

Thanks for quick reply,it looks like I will need to put vent at base also in back of shed.is their a certain size to use for venting larger in front smaller in back or same size?

hi everyone now got aviary on but now i need advise on ventilation.I HAVE 8X6FT SHED WITH A 8X4FT AVIARY IN FRONT with access from shed to aviary,OPEN FRONTED WITH SOLID ROOF,do i need more ventilation than this or do i need more ventilation in the back of loft?i"ve read a lot on venting lofts and the importance but does my aviary give sufficient or do i need venting in back of loft

Just to let you know finally put roof on aviary solid roof open on sides 8ft x 5ft,just got to put door onto aviary
