I looked into inbreeding and linebreeding to pigeons years ago.Until a loft has one or two extra special pigeons(mines included) I don't think its worthwhile getting caught up in. Still its a useful thing to know about and once you have some crack pigeons its a good way of ensuring you'll have more in years to come

We'll see what Saturday brings

Even Messac.Lightning cannae strike three times surely
-
Well Alencon has been a good race in the past, would hope we could get a good race out of there again
-
Yip I'd especially like for Alencon to be a success next year if it goes through at the meeting. Then get it back on the cards for 2013/14/15 etc to get a bit of consistency back to the main event

Is it not Newbury,Eastbourne,Alencon, longest to be decided depending on other organisations,Ypres,Clermont and Leicester thats on the cards??

One thing I found unbelievable recently. On average new years eve was 30 degrees warmer in the uk than it was in 2010

I've always like red pieds but more specifically mealy pieds.Trying to breed one at the moment, would be a lot easier if I had a mealy

http://forum.pigeonbasics.org/topic/44356-coronation-express/page__p__637577__fromsearch__1entry637577 Theres the Johnny Kirkpatrick Rennes result I posted a while back. At the time I did not have a scanner. My mum got one last week,I'll try to work out how to use it this week
-
Leave it with me.I know the man who has them all I was able to get the Anderson Bros 1939 Rennes win from him-the last loft in my federation to have won the Gold Cup.As well as Johnny Kirkpatrick's "Coronation Express" race.
-
Sir Robert Cormack I believe was on every Kings Cup result from 1968-2003 excluding 1997

Pretty sure you could have a good conversation with the Broxburn Bullet about club and fed pigeons as well John Be it old bird, young bird,50 miles or 500 miles he is at the top of the sheet

Elphinstone is a real hotbed when it comes to the nationals Many a good race night there I'd imagine especially if it was you that had the first bird in the village I went to John Bosworth's loft years ago but I was too young at the time to remember an awful lot about it. First loft I had ever been to where he could feed and water the doos without going in the hut.Not sure if it'll still be the same,as I said it was years ago.

I like the birds out most days. They were on an open loft all last winter and we lost fewer to BOP over these months than a clubmate lost in 2 weeks having had his birds on lockdown from September to March. Its each to their own but I wouldn't personally like to be locked in a shed a for 5 or 6 months on end.

Some topping fanciers from the North like everywhere else-Ritchie & Whyte,Mr "5 o'clock rock" Walter Masson,Wilson Noble etc. A lot of other top fliers up there that have had great results last season that will keep the North on the map for years to come. A fancier I have always been curious about it Davy Rose, not just for his results. My dad bought a pigeon of his at Mussleburgh. He came up to my dad after the auction and gave him his contact details. He told him to get in touch and he'd give him something down to go with the hen.He died shortly after the show I think. The hen went on to be one of the best pigeons my dad has ever had as a racer and breeder.

Just had a wee look and he has made the open result the last 5 times from the SNFCs furthest race as well.Had to go back to 2006 when he was 2nd open as there wasn't a Tours race in 2007. yeh along with Derek Norden they all featured in at least three of the last five
