Spoke to Dal last night and he told me he has never trained an old bird before the first race for 20 years but his yb's go to every race on the programme including the national and he has some record as you know ,Good Luck Steve .

Walter travels down on a friday night by himself john with all the computer gear etc ,I pick up another 2 members from Wamphray in my van,Come Saturday we all travel to Lockerbie in one car driven by Walter or myself The secrecy as to who has clocked the best bird is a joy to behold M15 would be proud of us The Joy of one of us producing a champion bird during the season far outways the cost of Petrol costs Band of Brothers .

Had birds out exercising tonight widow cocks first with no problems then let the one's that are still paired out they were enjoying there fly then the hen peregrine went at them i have never witnessed her flying so low between the houses and a very sustained attack when she finally disappeared there were birds everywhere found one between the feed shed and the loft 2 on top of the hedge that surrounds the house and one of the neighbours came over to say a pigeon had flown into her window and was lying on the gravel got them all ok but were really spooked ,she had a go at the widow cocks and hens earlier in the week but high in the sky this roof top stuff is a new ball game anybody got some free ground to air missile systems

Moffat have recently had our street lighting changed with these new bulbs sure when they were on about it in the papers they called it dark skies they light the area below the standard but not the surrounding area like the old one's meant to be ozone friendly ,Few people eldely and women not to happy as they give an uneasy feeling when walking out as driveways and park area's are now in darkness the old lights used to shine into the back yard but now ye couldnae find lord lucan anyone else got this modern p--h ?

I was also at that agm the vote was to go with the almond valley geraldy or stick with the old transporter and wicker baskets ,john hood stated to the hall after the vote that he felt a wonderful opportunity had been missed,I voted for the wicker and wish to this day that i had not when hearing from a very good fancier who went with the birds on many occasions and he clearly feels that there should only be 16 per crate for the france races as birds especially cocks are not getting to the drinkers because of dominant birds ,a top fancier stated at a moot not to long ago that he was at the barcelona lib and many baskets had no drinkers on when he put a drinker on and poured a bottle of water in the birds were killing for it sure it was reported they lost in the region of 30,000 and we wonder why ? Am i correct in thinking that the geraldy has access to water on 3 sides if so surely common sense should prevail jmo.

What should have been a very simple first toss from there usual spot south of johnstonebridge on saturday in sunny conditions turned out to be an all day event ,Lib all birds together and they went straight for home my mate john said the old grizzle has broke on his own and will be first home,When we arrived back in moffat Nothing ,then they start to appear in singles from the north west and did so all afternoon only one batch of 13 all the rest singles out of 64,When the rain came on heavy sat night i was 5 racers and 18 latebreds down plus the old 5yo grizzle ,When the rain finally cleared briefly on sunday got the 5 racers back ,2 late breds monday and another 4 today well flown out ,still no 5yo then ann at the shu phones me today hello michael i have a bird reported by a non fancier miss thomson su 08 l I start to laugh thats the old boy billy bilsland bred for me and got the ladies number then asked where she was from now the punch line BLACKPOOL F--- BLACKPOOL at what point after disappearing north did his sat nav malfunction ??lol Roll on Saturday :lol:

Absolutely Gutted to hear of Donald's passing ,We became good friends many years ago when he would phone every saturday as race controller of the Ballochmyle Fed ,Also was asked as his guest to pigeon moots etc and he also visited me down here in Moffat,To his wife and family may I extend my sincere condolences on behalf of the Currie Household ,God bless my Dear Friend .
