Birds are in good condition, they get onto the ground and eat whatever there is lacking in their’ diet. No meds. No supplements to their feed or additives to the water. Water left over night with a false top. Wind to fly in to daily. Cocks chasing cock. Flying with zest and gusto, necks aced out and wings clapping or used like oars in a boat. Now they are loft fit and ready to be conditioned and become race fit.... which is in reality just another part of Health. Then with health they become 'Motivated' which becomes a 'Complete'.

Tammy also it is a realistic fact that Yearlings like the sun on their backs ... moreso than older ones. Yes on fine days yearlings win upto 500 miles no problem. Give them cold wins, and especially East winds that come from Siberia, and you are doing more harm than good. My yearlings weren't tossed even as y/b's, and have had just two 30 mile chucks so far this year ... lost 2, and I would be quite hapy to leave them till next year. But won't as in June they will earn a perch this season. They have had a round, fed youngsters upto 16 days, and now seperated. for a few weeks. May mate them with stock birds later to race when siiting and on a youngster.... but won't send when they are driving, as they have a tendancy to win, or be lost.

No joke Sammy ... but you have to laugh at their stupidity!

No disrespect Chrissy, but that is oftena misnomer as mostly there are 3 times or more men around than women. Like women drivers, don't have as many accidents as men!.... but then again they cause a very large percentage, and walk away scot free.

So I also agree with 'Me' and feel your reply was a mite offensive and insulting Cement. And a 'Band is a Band' whether it costs 2p or £20! Oh to educate the illitre,ect.... spelt specially too lol
-
Not defending at all. No no doubt about that, but it may be that the person didn't know it was a ET band, and may have just be doing what many do, and take the Race Rubber of birds that enter their lofts to let the fancier know it has been in another loft and been fed and watered! JMI

You know, Johnny 11 does a cracking job, has a real mcCoy set up, and very quick and promt replies etc. And is more than very reasonable. Yes as is norm, many choose to ignore and promote the 'Names' and those earning a living out of it at our costs! Sure, they are good and entitled to make a living, that goes without saying, but how many have actually thought about, let alone use Johnny 11, a fellow pigeon flyer? I have twice, and am obviously more than satified and happy. I can't, really afford to sent to a 'Name' because it spouts another couple of letters behind their name - or their partners' name. Tests are tests! What the virus, or illness is and the cause looks the same whoever sees it, and with Johnny's sey up he will see a lot more. Qualified to understand and know what he is seeing etc. so why pay 2/3/4 times as much! Mind boggles, but that is human nature I suppose, give their money to a wealthier concern rather than use a better, and more cost effective person that is 'One of Us'!

I wonder how many sent yearlings! I saw a few sent some in our club. any a good yearling will be lost today. Yes some yearlings will win ... But many will be the empty perches tonight. We are only going just over 200 miles today, but I sent 4 cock birds, 2, 3 year olds and 2, 4 year olds.

Build a Wired avary with a solid frame. A overlapping false roof a foot to 18 inches slope - forward so you can see anything on the roof. Then close with airvents, and just a few removable nest boxes place upon each other on top of a covered in stand. I have plastic cladding on outer which I can replace with Air Vents to suit them and the weather.

Strains! I believe a better word and disciptions, and definately more honest would be 'Families, My family!

I believe that for sure... may make them home a mite quicker, others may say it would take something out of them ... Me, well I believe that they would home quicker....

I like a little garden lime sprinkled in and allowed to set ove night. And no I don't believe - like a lot of others - that it attracts E.Coli.... it has a very soothing effect andhence they don't get anxous for starters. Just watch the pigeons pick between the bricks for lime, when available.

Manners maketh man eh! But it has a two way edge that loft.... Birds may well be in their element, and if he altered it a jot, he could down the shoot in a jiffy.
