  1. If you want you can build as high and as wide and long as you like. Just put a couple of wheels beneath it. Then not classed as a permant fixture, hence needs no planning lol. ;D
  2. Stay away from them... they don't care... justr an excuse then to flex muscles and be the 'Big I am'!
  3. Not here, only thing to watch out is hieght not over 8 feet, and 12 long. - So it doesn't block out anyone's sun light. So remember if you don't ask for planning permission it can't be refused. Also only if bigger than the sizes mention. No just build one. Any one wanting look can't, even the council! They need a lot of paper work to force a look. A warrent for instance.
  4. I's the same ole song, has a different beat - sorry page - but it's the same ole song. Amtrax, birds of prey. One day, just one day ... nah it will never happen.
  5. One day, just one day, every fancier of pigeons, and other owners of birds that BOP take, will get a barrel of Pour On between them and treat their' birds ... nah of course they won't! Now that is the real shame!
  6. The most enduring attribute one can offer any one is their trust. It is the betraying of the trust that cuts deepest. A complete stranger can offer a deal - too good to be true, pr just good enough - and when one puts their trust there and is ripped off.. well it's red face time andfeeling sheepish to foolish. But when one has a decent report with another person, akin to friendship, then that rankles, and rankles big time. So yes we all have been, and will again no doubt, be fooled, conned, but that is life too unfortunately. Was just joshing you Duncan as you well know... but for the others that don't he .............. lol ;D ;D. Mind Coxy had a few sleepless nights I'm certain lol. P.s. Duncan i live in Alberta Canada. ;D
  7. Yes, it is only the genuine newbes that we have to worry about being ripped off :-/ ;D ;D But that is not what I meant and well you know it. If - as in any walk of life - you wish to learn, thenexpierences matter, quite a lot. The saying 'A wiseman learns from others mistake ... a fool by their own' is not really an issue, for any of us can be conned... like nipping down Stoke for a bargain lol ;D ;D But many learnt from the poor git that did it lol. :-/ ;D ;D. So most on here are careful a mite, and spout out when they smell a rat, imaginary or real. But the newbie is apted to be more keen... hence more vunerable sadly. But that goes with the territory I guess!
  8. I think that as long as the site has a donation all is fine. I believe that novices / new - comers etc. will have to learn like most of us did / do. Hopefully they know the grass is not always green and crap can have a smell of roses to camouflage deceitfulness. But alas alack, this is fundamental, a part and partial part of the game. Indeed of all games and walks of life. Bet your bottom dollar that those conned are either always subjected to be conned, or will never be conned again... Well at least not easierly. Great if they can ask in confidence certain ones they feel the have a rapore, a respect / trust with. Indeed the best thing for any novice is a sound mementos. They can get this on here. For instance sadly a certain flyer will be packing up soon. He will have good pigeons; tried and tested at sensible prices... an others good deals will undoubtedly follow. For another instance there are two fanciers on here that I don't, personally, have a lot of time for... but would recommend their’ birds.
  9. Must say that in two of the clubs, indeed all three, the secs are great, very well looked up too and respected. Indeed one is always voted 'Best Member'. One eat sleeps and drinks his job, absolutely loves it and pigeons. The other, just does and discusses everything. That is just one big happy family. Must say that it is pleasure to be in all three. Will change membership of one at least to 'Honoury Member (non - flying) because I never fly it... just pay the £140 and does a few 'Fund - raisers, which I will continue to do of course. But time to ge to one in race season has been just about impossible for the last few seasons, so must concentrate on getting at least one good season in where I race most weeks. Just thought I'd let you know how lucky we are - I am.
  10. Every season I seem to have / get one youngster that goes off by it's self at night, to return next day at around 4 : 30 feeding time. Can't recall how thet fare though later, or indeed how long this trait stays with them. I think it must just be going to that massive loft of 100's just behind me... the ole derelict picture house. Lose some every season there now for last 3/4 years.
  11. Ch. Pied, never thought you was matey, I was just quoting similar adages that I'd heard, believe lol
  12. And if you eat beatroot long enough you'll turn red. Me, well I might look like a cabbage, but ent that green lol. ;D
  13. Ah not responding when one has taken the trouble to report ... Now that does get right up my nose. Like the geezer that phoned and said, 'Haven't to speak at the moment ... I ring you again soon ' Four weeks later after numerous calls, I finall catched up with him... 'Crikey you still got it! ... thought you'd have got shot o it by now! ... Just back from me holidays like... why I thought I'd contact you when I had more time... etc.' He sent for it! Or I'd gone over with it and charged the going rate... >
  14. I think I'' start a topic section up. For's and againsts ... or Logic v stupidity. one also Whinging whiners only ... or Do nowt and moan. Yes will in the next few days set up a couple of them and see what's what! Be absolutely great also to be able to use it as a Referal basis too.. How about 'Starting a Stray center'!? Eek! Are we being serious :o ;D
  15. Was told just to leave it and it will drop off... it did, and never left a mark. Too much protien may be one answer.
  16. has to be done still ... if asked for. If say Swans were likely to hit them, or any birds it becomes a priority... just hard to get them to shake their ars into gear eh!

    WHITE RACERS

Often mean to ask you OLDYELLOW, do you recall a fancier by the name of Tom Robinson ( could be Roberts0 but sure it was Robinson. Had the best birds ever off hin 16 years or more ago. Very knowledgeable fellow, and a true Gents... Blunt and off handed, straight to the point, but would run a mile to help anyone. Must be mid to late 80's now.
  18. Not surprised
  19. yeah... need some pics matey, to know what they look like lol ;D ;D
  20. A little while back I was praise Steve and said that every race controller / liberater ought to read his manual on the subject. Here is a manul by Steve Bremnan. A lot of commonsense I feel. http://www.stevenvanbreemen.nl/en/?Release_Manual
  21. A great hobby!
  22. It is good to see some great results, and more importantly the 'Lesser Mortals' indeed moving up the ladders. Be it a rung at a time, but up wards and steeling resauces for tomora's new challenges, hopes, dreams and us 'Wing and a Prayer hopers' too that may well besmiling on top some day soon. This is what the sport revolves around. The dreaming and planner, setting stools out in winter months, the hopes of 'Hit or miss' matings. Sure some seasons our hopes are dashed, and we become dispondant etc. ... till new dreams emerges and the 'Fire' is rekindles... year in and year out for some of us lol... but wouldn't have it any other way 'IT is what makes this hobby what it is'''
  23. Most will be back tomorrow... some later on like. Just ignore them and leave loft door open if possible. May be that you will have to trap them like thi for a couple of weeks till they are confident and afeel safe. Talk gentle and put them through the traps a couple of times each, each day. Then 2 weeks time, when hungry they will coe in. Best think now is quiet voice and slow movements at all times around them. May well be no harm is done, could well even a good thing a little further down the line. Need a heading on that subject too I guess. Nights out, good or bad, but of course not discussed on here. Good luck mucker. Hope they are back sooner than later ... though often thoses away like this for a few days turn out to be good day birds from nigh anywhere, weather permitting of course. Good luck.
