  1. TrickyHannah even Peregrines will take ducks OUT of the water! Fact! Yes of course as all B.O.P. they are mindful, and careful regards getting wet. Or dragged / pulled in. Yes they will pull them selves out and can still fly of course. Of they can, but isn't too clever for them to do so. But dacks are a regular feed sauce for Percy. Like the RSPB that put Hobby Hawks over that consevationist site of 80 acres, built for the public to enjoy. After the Hobby had cleaned out all the Pee - Wits etc. they put Percy there which cleaned out the ducks! Another fact!
  2. TrickyHannah you obviously don't know as much as you think you do, or would have us believe you do. Like Old yellow said, I never said 6 - 7 were hunting together. And as for the numbers, well that is a big lake, mile wide in parts etc. So yes they will / would be there in numbers if it is a good day for hunting. Thought obvious that to most. Just hadn't seen it. Now upon search, yes my first thoughts were right, and both yours wrong.
  3. Yesterday whilst walking around a lake at Thrapston, Joyce and I, saw what I am adamant were Sparrow Hawks’ skipping and turning over the Lake. I believe they were after small Ducks / Coots / morehens or such and the like. There was 6 or 7 in all. Joyce thought not. But were like large ‘Hobby Hawks’ in the way that the Hobby searches out the ground killing pee – wits and such.Seaulls tried to bomb them etc. to no avail, they simple ignore and even out manuaved them. At end of the walk, we both agreed when we saw a Sparrow Hawk hovering, the little circle to sweep away over the lake. I was then surer than ever the others were sparrow hawks over the lake. The lake is 21/2 miles long and over ½ mile wide. Again some came real close. Can’t / couldn’t think of any Water B.O.P. that fits the bill. Yes there are Osprey 20 miles or so up the road between Uppingham and Oakham, but these in no way could be confused with them. It’s just that I’ve never seen this over the lake before. Mind wasn’t many around in my younger day to say the least.

  5. Yep Andy, now read, and try to understand... http://essayinfo.com/sample/essay/330/Wallstreet crash: And why ‘Securities & Exchange Commission’ was introduced and was a goos safe guard, followed world wide. – OK Kennedy made a fortune, then resigned to make a dynasty of money. Does this sound like Thatcher’s and vis the removing the ‘Watch Dog bodies to enable ‘Bankers’ to earn and do exactly like the 1920’s greedy ones did. Yes they did exactly the same. Yes she allowed this to happen again via removing the very rules to prevent it. Causes of the Wall Street Crash The reasons that led to the Wall Street Crash can be put into two main categories: Those to do with the overproduction of goods. Those to do with money and the stock market. Reasons linked to overproduction that led to the Wall Street Crash: 1. Companies were producing too many goods. 2. American goods could not be sold abroad because other countries had put tariffs (taxes) on them to make them more expensive. 3. When the demand for goods began to fall, workers' wages were cut and some workers became unemployed, which meant that they could no longer afford to buy the new consumer goods. 4. Farmers could not afford to buy the new consumer goods. Reasons linked to money and the stock market that led to the Wall Street Crash: · People were allowed to borrow too much money and they could not afford to pay it back. · People had taken out loans or invested their savings in the stock market, but there were too few controls on the buying and selling of shares. · The US President had not taken any notice of what was going on; he just left the businesses and banks to themselves. · Advertising and hire purchase agreements were not controlled, and this encouraged people to spend more. · Too many people thought that share prices could only go up, which encouraged them to invest more than they could afford in the stock market. · Banks did not have enough money in reserve to help businesses that were in trouble. This was because they had lent too much money but now the banks were facing difficulties because people could not afford to repay their loans. The greedy good talkers allowed any and everyone to borrow, even those had nothing etc. Stringent ruling was put into place to stop it ever happening again. Thatcher removed them! http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/history/mwh/usa/walldepressionrev1.shtml This makes good reading http://essayinfo.com/sample/essay/330/
  6. very pretty roland. now the other side. labour is prepared to give the lib dems anything...including a second un-elected labour pm in 4 years...i suppose after that the lib dems wish to give illegal immigrants full uk citizenship will be a doddle. that should really help overstrained public services. Yep, and where does the blame lie. At Thatchers door. After she gave away all our silverware, and desicrated our Mines, and Seeaport / shipping and Fishing etc. for her hungry fiendish 'Muckers' the coffers were ravashed and empty. So we had to import imergrants. Fact. Yes they take from our coffers.... But the reality is that they pay for the Pensions etc. that we worked 50 years or more to earn. Yes stopped then the training for Dentist / Nurses / Doctors etc. and gave all and everything 'Private' first 'Hands On' to that was the NHS. Even the cat Scanners etc. which WE ran raffles and boots sale, dances race night, Walks etc. to buy and present to Kettering General Hospital. Yes she allow the NHS ONE day a week use of. After the Wall Street crash, Trueman put the ole fox and buddy Kenndy in charge of the SEC etc. This body regulated any loans that the banks were allowed to grant over a certain amount and time. the rest of the world followed suit ... including us, and it worked well for many, many years... Till that cow said 'NON NON regulations are needed, nor should apply to sensible and clever 'Bankers' and as such the rest of the world followed Suit... like the USA ETC. Hilary Clinton done the same as the evil *expletive removed* and took thousands of homes making millions destitute, like Thatcher. Yer her abolishing the safe guards, and HER encoraging the dominence of wealth for a few had the dire consequences that poor Gordon is so unfairly laboured with - no pun intended lol. Even the Chameleon agreed and went along with Brown. And it hasn't proven to be right. 8billion eh. the same the USA lent us to set up the NHSetc. after we had bailed them out both in war and as ally. And why how the great Atlee / Bevin goverment blackmail the yanks into leanding us that 8 billion? But stating that they would flatley refuse to go to war on their behalf. Fact that to!
  7. Further, I personally was interested before, and was now, for as most will know I am having to restart so to speak. However, I have to say I have lost all interest in Lee's sales etc. Regardless of any reason that may be forthcoming, or put forward as to his actions regarding Gooners 'Moving Sale'as I feel there isn't the charactor displayed, or put up via lee that motivates any trust. If I'm wrong, then I'd apoligise, but shalln't be holding my breathe.
  8. Will say it is strange, considering the amount you have taken in sales yourselve Lee. Indeed perplexed that you haven't (Didn't)reply and send / pay Lewadebob. Maybe there is / was a reason. One that you'd care to share perhap?
  9. I'd raise the roof a foot onto a few blocks. Cover the whole loft roof then with frames covered both sides with 1/2 wire mesh. These frame works are fitted complete over all. (Pigeon Pete may have some still competatively priced... I have a spare roll incidently, but am not touting and that's for sure. Doing no harm here, and may well be useful as some later stage). Then make frames to fit between the wired mesh roof, again covering both side with wire mesh. The roof needs to over lap. And really should slope towards the front so nothing - cats etc. can hide from view. Dig a foot deep, 6 - 9 inches wide where the rain will fall and fill with gravel. Instantly clears away any and all wet.
  10. Yes very true Spin Cycle. But then the main, and all-important difference, is that the Labour party give back some to the working class. They rob pinch lie and steal! Of course they do. BUT no where as near as bad as the 'Hooray Henry’ brigade that still deem it's their' right to rule, and the peasant fodder to pay. The socialist government actually care and give the workingman a painkiller and apply some TLC. Not like the Tories that bludgeon and cut away chunks of the flesh for own ends!
  11. To make 95% of the footballing fans happy in this country, Wigan have to lose. This to allow Chelsea the title they will then have won.
  12. Well went and collected the birds of off John. A great genuine fellow to boot. Joyce and I also walked the beach and took Joyce for a meal. Nice fish and chips too lol. So I'm happy. Her indoors was happy till - Today, well it is another day and like most women she say'says 'What have you done for me lately....' Then the fights starts lol. Thanks John, much appreciated. I will let you know how they fare. Be nice if every one was as genuine. But then that's life and talk is cheap.
  13. Well looks like a Liberal Goverment if the two main parties want to keep it as it is. Suppose the only good thing is now hat Gordon can't take the flaf of others doing he can lie and cheat and promise 'Moon Cheese' and belittle - and sadly it will be - the Tory's as the start to line their own nests'. Of course they all do, and will. But the tory's will pick the teeth clean of the 'Working Man' and lead him as usual to the 'Valley of want'. Yep and they will have to work longer and harder for less. Ah well somethings never go away I guess.

    Birds Owing

Thanks Jimmy. I know they won't let me down .... Worried I may well let them down.
  15. Freebird how true. And I feel you are holding back and could well add a lot more. Just one operation, just having a doctor and Nurse, more than covers a socialist vote. Everything and anything else is pie in the sky. I'd love the Tory voters to have to pay for a operation. The deliverance of the baby. Well may well be soon, for now the time is nigh, when they will have the chance to first hand! Mind won't bother the real conservatives at all as they can afford to have insurances, or just splash out. It's the pseudo wallers Well be careful what you wish for is apt. And every conservative goverment has taken chunks out of the NHS, and tried to desolate it. And much more. Sell the railways of cheap to matey's and now we have to subsidise them 5 fold. Yes it costs us millions every day to keep them running.... and yet every year the 'Bosses' have bigger and fatter pay packages. And the beat goes on, and we will have to pay to fatten and bolster the wealth one wallets.

    Birds Owing

Will do Grizzler... if and when I know how lol. Think I'll have to pick Bakes up one morning and let him do the honours. Then take him back as he doesn't drive. May well cook him a dinner too come to that lol.

    Alan'S Van

Well for those that know of the saga, Alan's van was again mended, fingers crossed, last mid week. A reconditioned engine was fitted. Tuesday this week had to go in for a check up on the fridge / freezer as he wanted every cosher whilst in hospital - Today is the op of a hip replacement. They said it was ready and that the main pipe had a split on it, and that's why it wasn't working 'EEK, it was working, just wanted checking! So had to wait for the parts... Got it back yesterday - Thursday - and we took him to hospital later on lol. As Rod Stewart sang 'Some guys have all the luck, some guys ...'
  19. Had a great email from John of Formula lofts fame. This was to inform me that my 6 youngsters were ready to be picked up … which I will indeed nip up (Saturday?) and fetch. This reminds, brings home, no pun intended lol, of others that have – or who promised youngsters this season. Yes from some members on here. One in particular, was a replacement promise of birds far from ‘Up to the Mark’ … Indeed they never got up the road, for they didn’t stay of course. So he said 'I'll will honour my word and replace them'. This fancier was moving house and restarting later in the year (last May) with new stock, for he had fell out with his flying partner! So I agreed that he’d keep the good money I’d paid on the promise, understanding that I was to have 12 youngsters off his new stock in January 2010. This of course was 4 months ago. He was in touch a couple of time to re - enforce his agreement. Last time was in July. I haven’t heard from him since. Others have promised me some. Another was a ‘Prize’ for a contest I entered. And the beat goes on. Please note that this in no way reflects from two others promises of birds made in gestures of good will when I lost my youngsters. Which in no way would I dream of holding them too. Indeed these ‘Freebies’ are of course in no way binding, nor should be. I add this in case they feel this post is made with their’ names of intent. This of course is certainly not so, and couldn’t be further to the truth. Indeed they may have very sound and understandable, genuine reasons. I rather feel this is indeed the case. As for the others, well the price of bacon will go up when pigs fly over the house tops and that's for sure. May I just add, that John, of Formula Lofts, offered these birds right off, and at no charge last August! This was when I lost my team of youngsters. Thus proving again what a good, honst and fine gentleman he is. Thanks John you're a true Gent in every sense of the word.
  20. A cold day in hell was March the sixth. Means the Liberal democrats are in power in realityas the hold the balance of swing. Was a cold day in hell when Labour lost their’ majority. The simple realistic idea of waiting for the economy to grow, about three years, to start offsetting the compulsory loans, made logical realism of sense. Unfortunately these loans were needed (Make no mistake about that!) to sustain any mean of trade and business. We borrow to keep heads above water. To enable growth and trade for, not only the smaller needier concerns, but right across the board, but to keep so many not only in work, but a roof over their heads! Remember at the time, Chameleon was in favour for these loans and voted as such! Indeed the world followed suit and it has been proven, and endorse by the worlds leading economist, that this the correct course to take. Now we will see the old Eton and rich brigade start to buy up cheap so many unfortunate ones, and add to the wealth, and so called ‘Housing Associations’ as many thousands, yes like that Evil one caused in the 80’ / 90’s to happen They will prey on and exploit the lower hierarchy to their own ends. Make no mistake about that. It will be as Churchill once said Never have so many given so much to so few’! If any reason whatsoever was needed to vote for the Labour party, then the NHS alone was one. Yes granted one of many! Like the ‘Evil Cow’ this will again be desecrated. We were just getting ‘Dentists’ for example, to everyone who needs one. Not having to go up to a 100 miles. Placed in the situation where one got up every day to phone only to be told ‘No Chance’ and we had to pay up or wait a week or so and travel’ miles. I personally went 56 miles each way. The place was over crowded and we were huddled like cattle in and out ASAP! Fact! Now we have trained, abeit abroad at our expense, doctors and dentists Chameleon with live up to his promise here and cut into the NHS and try to enforce everyone to take out insurance like the USA…. Need we go there where 42% suffer without help every day. Where now the selfish filthy rich are trying to take the government to court to stop them helping the sick and needy. A sad note to end on. Alan – yes the Van man with all his troubles was sweating and praying every day that his hip would be done before the Tories got in! He went in last night under a large sigh and baited breathe. Has his opt today. Was terrified that if delayed it would be one of the first cut backs, and he’d miss out on the op. Sad thing is, he votes Tory … or used to, because his firm where he once worked paid his personal BUPA. Funnily enough when he wanted to go private, for a hernia op, the waiting list was far, far longer than the NHS! Even though the Tories made possible that they had first choice on any equipment.
  21. Just posting to say I daren't look lol
  22. More than pleased. A great boon is that! May I also say.... Inded I must say this site is getting better the more as I get to find my way around lol. Top site now, and I think it will reach and stay number one for quite some considerable time. Well done all whose hard work and endeavour has made this possible.
