    Found Bird

Hi , firstly thank you for trying to help this bird , the rules are there because there has been cases where owners have sent for there birds by couriers , couriers aren't trained in catching birds that are flying free and the courier ends up loosing money and not collecting any bird , so firstly the bird must be contained so it can be collected by the owner or a courier , a small box with holes in and some food and water until owner can arrange to collect. I'll look on this years ring list to see where this ring was registered too

  14. but they would of hit dribs and drabs of north road bird's saw loads going down all day very few coming up as said the coast was covered in sea fret here so bad we had drizzle visabilty was very poor , Lincolnshire was overcast birds were locked out here by the weather and returned morning after only 2 birds were into Scarborough town for Pete Thorpe , at 8pm Saturday i saw a batch of around 200 birds come from the west and head for the coast was very strange indeed
  15. be cheaper and be more drag for others going in same direction i know we've gone with Lincolnshire fed for channel and have had room up to Hastings if others ferried in to area we need more forward thinkers and to come together more can only save money for organisations
  16. quite simply weather related no need to look for any other reason imo , birds made it home , if looking for any other reasons is this too many small concerns and clashing , im sure if organisations came together more and went down road together be a lot less birds lost
  17. I know in past this subject always tends to have a 50/50 split in opinions , i've always used electrolytes on return , here a valid point i'd like to get across , first two races I flew this season I believed the birds weren't watered properly and were looking for water on return , other than a few that came back a little later with grey silt on there legs these are birds that haven't previously been down before . Well where we fly the birds either come over the Humber online or they go inland and round , the Humber water is brackish and contains less salt than sea water , why would thirsty birds want salt ???? obviously to take on fluids and put there body back to balance or perhaps they were lacking salt to start with and couldn't store water because of the lack of salt in there diet been present
  18. 3 cocks missing and 3 hens from Saran 445 miles
  19. if cuck-coos lay 20 eggs a season and half of them are successful we should be over run with them !!!! just shows the mismanagement by the R.S.P.B

  22. Good advice I stopped worrying about having a so called strain years ago , buy good birds from proven birds look for individuals rather that a quick fix when you buy several in quality will always beat quantity check the results trace the owners have a chat , visit if possible and if you think you can trust them part with your cash
