floating floor consists of useing no nails in the floor its done similar to the way as you would put down a wooden floor in house just put plastic down no holes or tears etc then 2 by1 on top running around walls then put 2by1 running in the square these about every 2 foot put floor on top then put skirting board of some sort around thick stuff anything will do best to do with 2 people one pushing the board down as 1 nails it too the wall then cut off excess plastic this way mate you cant get dampness coming up though your floor im hopeless at explaining stuff hope you can understand im sure someone can explain it better
