pjc Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 Well even though i am up to my armpits with everything at the moment i have decided to act on something that i have been thinking about for a long time, mainly since i lost my father to cancer. I want to arrange the biggest online auction(s) ever. I want all the proceeds to go to cancer charities in Ireland, Northern Ireland, England, Scotland, and Wales. "Oh no not another sale for me to donate to" your all saying? Well yes it is, but thats why i'm getting in early, so you can pledge your donation to a very worthy cause. I don't just want to make a couple of thousand i want to make tens of thousands for them, i want to raise £50,000!! Sounds a lot but if we could get 500 birds and average a £100 each we could do it. I want to do as it says, the biggest online auction ever, or series of auctions ever. We may even have auctions in salesrooms if it could be arranged. At the moment i just want to start getting a list together, firstly of people who would be prepared to help in all the admin etc and secondly donations. Hopefully the auctions will take place in November. The donations can be anything you might have spare at the time or 2010 young birds, or even just a few quid. Every donation will count, every penny or cent of what is raised will be going towards a terrific cause, a cause that has probably affected every pigeon fancier's family. Fanciers are renowned for making money for charity, well this time we will raise the money and we will decide where it goes. It will go to causes that affect us all. I am going to cover all expenses myself for adverts, postage etc, maybe a bit of sponsorship will be received to help us out. Although I am going to write to every company involved in pigeon racing that i know. If you know anyone who would be interested in donating please give them my contact details. If you would like to pledge a donation, or would like to help this terrific event and cause, please either do so in this thread or pm me. Alternatively you can contact me on the following: mickbowler1965@hotmail.com 00353 8766 0928 Please please please donate what little or best you can.
Kieran McDoo Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 Wonderful cause Both my Dad and I will will donate a YB each! Mum says if she can help in any way just let her know. :)
Guest mick bowler Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 Hi, and thankyou to everyone who has so far donated. I cannot believe in the response in just a few hours, superb. As i want to do this all above board, and considering the money that will be involved, i want to get a charitable trust and bank accounts set up before i accept any donations. if you would like to make a monetary donation you can email me and i will hold your name on record. if you would like to make a bird donation, if you could PM me or PJC or email or ring me with a contact number and brief details of the lot i will add it to the list. Also just noticed my phone number should be 00353 87 6600928. Thanks Again Mick Bowler.
Guest mick bowler Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 I'd like to thank all the forum members that have so far offered a donation once again, the generosity of some fanciers absolutely astounds me, in a very good way of course. But we are still a long way from achieving our goal. Remember the sales will not be held until November so even if you don not have anything spare then you could always pledge YBs for 2010. Thanks Mick
