IF they gave you the full ring number GB 2009. A.12345  which I think anyone would they would have a job to have one with a Identical ring.

 

 

ok let me explain it differently...if they told you the bird on show is ring number 12345(which it wasnt)with no ring number on show.... and the other bird they have to replace it was the bird rung 12345...i hope this is now clear

wouldnt buy birds with no rings on. it dosnt matter if it was free £1 or £1000 you still NEED a life ring to prove its done the buisness in the sport. to sell y/b or old i like to see what im buying i dont go by what they say or the look of the bird or birds. life rings is for that bird and that bird only. thats why some pay £££££££££££££££££££££ for that bird life rings is for the identity what that birds done,

I have a slaty w/f cock bred by Mr Winterbottom,he was given to me as a present from a good friend in oldham this cock has no ring as mr winterbottom missed him in the nest,he is a class act and many flyers have tryed to buy him when i tell them that he has no ring they turn round and say so doe's that stop him breeding good birds.I can't sell him as he has to go back if i ever finish with him,And ive had some great flyers visit me.

it isnt the matter of trust we are on about. its the sale point of view and rings to be shown on the pics.trust dont come in to it when you buy a bird.would you buy a bird off any one you dont no and trust them to tell you the truth with out the ring on it I DONT THINK SO

no for me a good fanciers word is all the proof i would need you have to have a bit of trust,

 

some top class birds are presents because the fancier has missed the ring.

 

people who look for life rings and peds to me are only looking to move them on or sell from them.  A pigeon does not need a life ring to be a champion breeder. To think it does is being nieve. JMO.   I would gladly have a top breeding unrung bird in my loft. Plenty of sh** in lofts with rings on :-/ ??) ??)

if he or she missing putting the rings on them it gos to show they dont spend a lot of time in there lofts. that poor management on there side.

this thread was started as some thought it was a good idea to know the ring numbers of birds that were being offered for SALE not gift birds.

for eg.   i would not buy a bird that someone tells me it was 1st national 1st combine 20 x1st without the ring no' to clarify this and the positions it has won

exactly what im saying, unless the seller shows the birds ring in the pic then he could be telling you the ring number of another bird which looks very similar.

i think we may have crossed wires but we both come to the same conclusion

you did post earlier that you would not take a bird from a combine winner if it did not have a life ring. And as for missing rings its not bad management some people work away etc and have to leave inexsperianced people to feed and water birds , we do not all have the luxuary to be with birds 24/7 im afraid. :-/
